Cold turkey, just jump ship !!! I wouldn't know but it sounds logical to me. This was from John's and Yoko's experimental years. After hearing all the music from that era, I must say it is good music to listen to if you have broken your arm ( I had a broken arm when I heard it and John and Yoko screamed so I didn't have to ).

@Driverzx yeah if the idea of going cold turkey appeals to you. This is clearly a song showing the one of the many dark sides of the drug.

@Driverzx: How the fuck is that supposed to work then? "36 hours rolling in pain" doesn't sound very enticing, does it? Cold turkey is definitely one of the least pleasant heroin experiences.

RE: "Cold Turkey" : Indeed, J.L. hits this one on the head. been there; done that. etc. lowest common demoninator, yet in your face; euphamism limited, but perhaps made more bold the presentation...

@ Lee Spike - Cold Turkey was one of the 1st singles John did after leaving the Beatles, he even offered this to the Beatles but they rejected it. So, he put it out himself w/ the Plastic Ono Band. He wrote it but what was to be custom then, he credited it as a Lennon/Yoko single (Plastic Ono Band)

bone-chlling screaming! I heard him, live on late-night black and white TV, playing madison square gardens in NYC, do this song during the height of the escalation of Amerikan bombing of Vietnam (during the Christmas season to impress the "North" that Nixon was capable of and would do anything). I will never forget this: At the height of the screaming portion of this song, he began to beg and scream, and beg and scream, "Stop the bombing! Stop the bombing!" To this day, I confess, that recalling it as I do now brings tears to my eyes just as it did then.
