My guitar hero. Ever since I saw him perform "Astonishing Panorama of the Endtime" he's been such. I'd have to say that "Perineum" is my favorite piece, especially with the Steve Vai Appearance, and the only full album I know so far is "Songs for Sanity" which is so diverse in both style and mood. It makes a great mood setting for the manic depressive.

I wouldn't say his talent was wasted in MM...maybe slightly misdirected, but definitely not wasted... John left a great impact in MM's music...and he joined MM with much joy and motivation...it's a band he'd admired for a long time and it was his dream-come-true to play in it...
