Joanna Newsom is just the most amazing musician and poet. Her music is on a different plane to everyone else. The sweeping orchestrations of Ys that accompany her stunning harp playing is just perfection and then you add her voice to the equation. I might listen to other musicians more but she is the greatest. I can just sit in the dark with headphones on and just escape with her music in a way I couldnt with other bands or musicians no matter how brilliant they are. Quite staggering. and absolutely beautiful.
