Ta notka inspirowana jest ostatnim wpisem usera o nicku Aztek, który w swoim dzienniku postanowił zamieścić przemyślenia dotyczące albumów, które szczególnie zapadły mu w pamięci. Ja pomyślałem, że jego wzorem, skupię się na artystach, którzy przez lata, w większym lub mniejszym stopniu kształtowali moje upodobania muzyczne i sprawili, że jestem dziś takim, a nie innym człowiekiem. Materiał opublikuje w kilku częściach by oszczędzić sobie czasu, którego obecnie nie mam zbyt wiele, ograniczając się raczej do gitarzystów oraz wokalistów, gdyż te dziedziny, tak naprawdę mnie interesują. W takim razie nie pozostaje mi nic innego, jak powiedzieć - zapraszam do... hm... lektury?

1.Scott Stapp


W światku rocka jest to osoba wzbudzająca naprawdę wiele kontrowersji. Liczne skandale obyczajowe, nieco kaznodziejskie zachowanie, rzekome kopiowanie Eddiego Veddera, czy pewne inne, pomniejsze incydenty sprawiły, że Stapp stał się obecnie jednym z najbardziej nielubianych reprezentantów muzyki rockowej. Nie podważam prawdziwości tych faktów. Pamiętam, kiedy obejrzałem sex tape'a, pamiętam, kiedy w jednym z newsów na jakimś portalu muzycznym przeczytałem, że pod wpływem upojenia alkoholowego doprowadził on do awantury domowej, w efekcie której trafił do paki na kilkadziesiąt godzin. Co więc przyczyniło się do tego, że jest on dla mnie jednym z najważniejszych kompozytorów ostatniej dekady? Przede wszystkim świetne teksty oraz kompozycje. Obok afer, które wymieniłem przed chwilą, zachowałem w pamięci jeszcze momenty, w których, z niezwykłym zaintrygowaniem, czytałem oraz interpretowałem naprawdę ciekawe liryki napisane przez niego, oraz ze łzami w oczach, pierwszy raz w życiu, oglądałem teledysk do pięknego kawałka My Sacrifice. Te chwile nosi się w sercu, tym bardziej, że czas spędzony z Creed, był momentem, w którym dopiero zapoznawałem się z cięższą muzyką. Obecnie zespół się reaktywował, a Stapp próbuje zrehabilitować się za błędy, jakie popełnił w przeszłości. Ta iście chwalebna postawa, talent kompozytorski, oraz kilka innych czynników sprawiło, że koleś znalazł się na tej liście jak najbardziej zasłużenie.

2. Eddie Vedder


Świetny artysta, o niesamowitej charyzmie i umiejętnościach wokalnych. Koleś, który swoim zachowaniem, wzbudza niesamowitą sympatie po obejrzeniu jakichkolwiek koncertowych nagrań Pearl Jam'u. Była to osoba, która sprawiła, że w ogóle zainteresowałem się odłamem muzyki rockowej definiowanej jako grunge - cokolwiek miałoby to znaczyć. Jak nie raz wspominałem, album zatytułowany TEN, jest arcydziełem, które w zasadzie nie ma zauważalnych słabych stron. Piętno, jakie na mnie odcisnął, objawia się przede wszystkim na tym albumie. Do końca życia zapamiętam utwory takie jak Black, Alive czy Jeremy, w których mieści się więcej emocji i pasji niż ludności w przeludnionej Azji. :D Polecam też jego solowy album, który jest swoistą odskocznią od tego, co tworzyło PJ.

3. Jerry Cantrell


Tu również osoba, która swoją karierę muzyczną, podobnie do Edka, rozpoczynała w Seattle. Jest głównym kompozytorem reaktywowanej po latach formacji Alice in Chains. W przeciwieństwie do Layna Staleya, kolegi z zespołu, który umarł tragicznie w 2002 roku, udało mu się wyjść z nałogu narkotykowego. To, co dowodzi jego fenomenu są przede wszystkim kompozycje jego trzonowej kapeli, które w większości stworzył właśnie on. Charakterystyczny styl gry na gitarze, świetne harmonie wokalne (clean-disortion) oraz przede wszystkim fenomenalny wręcz talent do pisania kawałków o przygnębiającym i niepokojącym klimacie, składa się na coś naprawdę niesamowitego. Doskonale pamiętam, utwory takie jak Would?, Down in a Hole czy Get Born Again, pamiętam też, kiedy u boku swoich kolegów z zespołu, włącznie z na wpół martwym Laynem, przy wyłączonym prądzie i świecach, spowodował u mnie nagły atak ciar, grając akustyczne Nutshell czy Brother na koncercie MTV Unplugged zarejestrowanym w 1996 roku. Nie przeszkadza mi również, że chcąc dorobić na swój fundusz emerytalny, postanowił reaktywować swoją dawną formacje pod znanym i cenionym szyldem - Alice in Chains. Wszystkim sceptykom uważającym, że "noł-lejn, noł-alis" pozostaje mi tylko współczuć. Chyle czoła przed Cantrellem oraz liczę, że Black Gives Way to Blue nie będzie ostatnim albumem, jaki stworzyła Alicja.

Koniec części pierwszej, jest późno w nocy, dzisiaj piątek, więc przede mną są jeszcze zmagania szkolne. Tak, tak, też żałuje, że jestem tylko człowiekiem. W tym momencie pozostaje mi zaprosić Was na kolejną część, którą - czując się zobowiązany - opublikuje pewnie na dniach.
