I've decided to do a second posting of this "Charts and Words" thing. I don't think I got a single new physical release the past week, although I did download a few new netreleases.

1. Fluxion (+0, 63 plays)
Fluxion tops the list once again. This is really great music.

2. Brahma (new, 43 plays)
Brahma is a band that includes Darrell Fitton, better known as Skam artist Bola as well as Dennis Bourne, who has done vocals on several Bola and Jello tracks. I found out about a full album netrelease that has been put out on this site, and it's actually very good, funky music. Anyone who likes the vocal Bola/Jello tracks should download it now. "Gene Pool" is just great.

3. Thomas Brinkmann (+0, 40 plays)
Mr. Brinkmann retains his #3 place on the charts. I'm liking both the album "Rosa" and minimal techno in general more and more these days. I've been thinking that the easiest way to reach "perfection", or at least come the closest to it, in music is through minimalism.

4. Speedy J (+36, 22 plays)
I listened to the album "Loudboxer" a bit this week. It's a very strange album. The vinyl version is apparently like 200 locked grooves, and the CD version was made using those locked grooves. Or maybe it was the other way around, I don't know. When I first got this (wow, that was a long time ago, three or four years) I didn't really care for it, and I'm still not sure what to think. I like "A Shocking Hobby" better.

5. Deceptikon (+59, 21 plays)
"Lost Subject" is a fine instrumental hip-hop album. It's pretty solid the whole way through. The only track I really don't like is the third one, and track one is amazing. I remember just leaving the record store after I bought this, putting the CD in my car stereo and thinking "this is going to be an awesome album".

6. MF DOOM (new, 20 plays)
I think I had one of the Special Herbs CDs playing when I was working on writing some lyrics, but this guy is a really excellent rapper too. His delivery is just so cool and laidback, he should do a collaboration with Vladislav Delay or Jan Jelinek or someone. I regret not picking up Mm.. Food during one of the numerous chanced I've had to do so; now it's out of print (I think) and I'll have to wait for it to show up in a used shop.

7. Drexciya (-3, 18 plays)

Jan Jelinek is awesome and everyone should listen to him.

9. Helios (new, 17 plays)
I first heard Helios through the album "Unomia" on Merck, which is really a mixed bag of different styles. He's on the list this week because I found I page full of equally varied tracks by him here.

One more thing, this week I downloaded a netrealease from Italian artists Tu M' called "Rain EP" and it's actually very good and I'm suprised it didn't show up on my chart this week. Anyway, it can be downloaded here. It's sort of similar to Fennesz, maybe.
