I Am... Was not as good as Illmatic, not even close man, sorry. Stillmatic wasn't quite as good either, but it was still an easy classic, great album. In my opinion It Was Written is just about as good as Illmatic though.

@DopePhilosophy, see, Nas still made good albums after Illmatic. JMT has made a bunch of crap albums after VBD (seriously, the only 'good' songs that came off of their albums after VBD had guest features, because Vinnie couldn't fucking carry a song) and the last two albums they made were absolutely terrible. Unlistenable. Vinnie is a crappy MC now, before he was an average one. Jus is a garbage MC now, he used to be dope as fuck though. Stoupe is gone, and he was the last good member.

They went from truly original and refreshing to just another "hardcore" rap-group which shouts propaganda in your face. Stoupes departure was the final blow. so far i am pretty disappointed with the new album (listening now), anyone who says vinnie is awful you haven't listened to enough of him.. you are in the process of realizing that vinnie (like most artists) is inconsistent, go listen to winds of war or the violent by design album... and yearn for those kinds of colaborations, beats and rhymes again.
