Musicians met: Patrick of Okkervil River, Camilla and Jordan of Sunset Rubdown, Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater, Dan, Arlen and Spencer of Wolf Parade. The black haired dude of The Dodos and the singer of Man Man. Whatever their names may be.
The best gig memory: When Spencer Krug offered his hand and said, “I’m Spencer,” and I took his hand, thinking to myself, WELL FUCK ME, I KNOW.
The second best gig memory: Jonathan Meiburg officially pardoning me for downloading Shearwater’s new album (this included him doing a cross over my head. It was a very official ceremony).
Gigs that were pleasant surprises: Jenny Lewis, Death Cab for Cutie, Shout Out Louds
Worst gig memory: Metro Station. They were on stage for half an hour, and I have never had to endure such shite.
Sad music achievements: I’ve behaved myself this year. I mean, apart from stalking certain bands, I’m doing alright.
Events worth noting: buying a banjo, getting a ukulele, doing my own mini-Wolf Parade tour.
An estimate on money spent on CDs, gig tickets, gig related travelling, band merchandise, music instruments and accessories in 2008: I’ve decided I no longer want to know.
