  • Anngie's best music of 2009

    Dez 15 2009, 22h49 por Bugbiyte

Indie-rock dominated my MP3 player this year (Animal Collective, Phoenix, xx, The Horrors). "Fame Monster" Lady GaGa's catchy, Madonna-inspired pop beats made a suprisingly #1 fan out of me. Festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo brought forward some of my all-time childhood favorite bands to rock my world from the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, Jane's Addiction, My Bloody Valentine, and Depeche Mode. And, thankfully, next year is shaping up to be just as equally exciting with new music from indie-rock(and dance) titans Yeasayer, Hot Chip, Spoon, MGMT, Battles, These New Puritans, LCD Soundsystem and the Klaxons (need i say more?). But, for now, I'd like to highlight some of the best albums to date. Every track on this list is an essential must have for any DJ or fan of good music.

  • How diverse is your musical taste?

    Dez 10 2009, 20h11 por Renegadesteve2

First, make a list of your top-20 artists overall. Then, for each of these artists, add the 8 most similar artists to your list. Delete any duplicates, count up the number of entries on your list and this will give you some idea of how eclectic your listening habits are. A score of 8 represents an extremely unvaried musical taste while a 160 represents an extremely varied one.

  • Is anyone here worth talking to? No? Didn't think so.

    Dez 9 2009, 22h49 por humorbot

What the fuck is wrong with people?
    "Everything?"
Yeah, yeah, I meant apart from that.

Just conversing with a friend about the original nationality of Fosters beer via facebook (not my preferred method of communication, I assure you.)
Some fag comes on and says "WHO CARES lol".

    What the FUCK is that?
Honestly, do you walk up to people talking on the street and yell in their ears "WHO CARES"
It used to be that, that was a fucking point, but nowadays, chances are you probably do.
At least I can get satisfaction from the fact that you can't maintain an erection, you often feel like a woman stuck in a man's body and you look like this:

Of course to make this relevant, I'll point out that it happens here too.
I'm discussing whether or not shitty Backspacer is shit or not and some fool turns up going "Hey, shut der fuck up, ur like the guyz on the Metallica page arguing over nothing. SWEAR MOR!"

It used to be that all these guys were 12 years old...

Let me go over this for you shits, if it's not going to be entertaining to you, me or anyone else, why the fuck are you saying it?
It's pretty fucking obvious who cares and it's pretty fucking obvious that we're not arguing over nothing.

Next time you feel like saying some useless shit like that, ironically something people care even less about, why don't you turn off your computer, turn to your fat ugly wife and say "I want a divorce".
You'll be a lot happier and so will I.

I'll post the time and date of the very first unoriginal comment saying "Who cares?" or "You're talking about nothing".

    Blind Guardian - .... No.

    10. When did you first get into 8?
Cat Stevens - Don't remember what age I was, but it was the same time Harvest Moon for the GC came out. I would play that game with this in the background it was the bomb.

    Lacuna Coil - Heaven's a Lie.

    14. Which song do you not like by 18?
Linkin Park - Ummmm.... Hit the Floor from Meteora. I had a short time when I thought it was badass but now its just kinda annoying.

    15. Why do you like 14's songs?
Beastie Boys - For the most part.... the lyrics are so bad they are good, and the beats are usually cool.

Blur - Nope. All good memories with those songs.

Edguy - Highschool, Junior year. I was on a power metal binge and they were one of the bands that stuck.

    20. How long have you been into 9?
The Beatles - Since before Junior High....

    21. If 11 had a concert 300 miles away, would you drive there to see them?

Megadeth - Two, Best of... and Peace Sells...

The Police - Probably King of Pain. Good song. Very sad.

    27. Is there a song by 32 that you've listened to more than 30 times?

Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver cover. I loved Dio and this song was a badass cover imo.

    31. What is your favorite single by 25?

Turisas- Two, Battle Metal and Varangian way. To my knowledge that is all of em.

    40. Which member from 31 do you want to see go solo? If 31 is only one artist, what would you do if they joined a group?
Kamelot- I'd like to see Roy Khan go solo. Would be interesting to see what his style is like. He kinda carries the band anyways.

Rage Against the Machine - Hatin' on the government like all of their songs.

    42. Did you hate 43 at first?

    43. Does your best friend also listen to 33?
    Manowar- and No.

    44. Do you think your parents would like 37?

Imagine smooth, subtle, seamless transitions from jazz influenced chord structures to riff rock set to a familiar contemporary rock feel with catchy sing song, powerpop, vocal hooks and melodies. Guitar: this is heavily Jazz influenced, with melodic and shred metal tidbits here and there when called for. To get me out of Jazz mode I have to use alternate tunings. "CrowfeatheR" on the guitar is a nuclear-jazz guitarist with a sonic chameleon and multiple personality disorder complex. Every section of every song must have its own sonic principal and style that suits the feel of the music. My favorite guitar sound is from a HALO guitar and an EMG pickup. My primary instrument in the past has been the electric Bass. My greatest influences growing up were John Taylor (Duran Duran), James Jamerson, Bootzilla (that's Bootsy Collins to you), Muzz Skillins (living Color), Doug Pinnick (Kings-X, Pound hound), Chris Squire (YES) and of course Geddy Lee (Rush). Although I have the technical ability for endless masturbatory riffing and blazing runs faster than any guitar player could ever do using a pick, using my "cross finger picking" technique, I chose not to include too much of that in my popular music. I have put most of that behind me and I am trying to loose my musical ego. I am more worried about how things sound other than playing stuff no one else can. My favorite Bass tone is my custom made Bass through a bright, tube preamp with new sparkling Curt Mangan light stainless strings, mmmm, warm, punchy and crunchy. My percussion tracks are a Combination of live drums and percussion and digitally sampled or electronic, drum programming. My favorite drummers are too many to list , but include Morgan Rose (Seven Dust), Danny Carey (TOOL), Sam Mcandless (COLD), Jerry Gaskill (Kings-X) and the creator of the modern drumming style, Neil Peart (Rush). I prefer the sound of Mahogany drum shells, ported bass drum heads, a hard beater and a beater patch.
