my fucking god that took along time.

Я решил подбивать промежуточные итоги каждые три месяца, чтоб легче было сориентироваться при составлении топа-2008 в конце года. Если кому интересно, что я слушаю – willkommen :)

Grand-prix: Schiller- Sehnsucht [new-age, melodic trance, ambient]
Для всех любителей нью-эйдж музыки его альбом, скорее всего, станет лучшим подарком 2008 года. Не знаю, сколько лет работали над ним Кристофер фон Дейлен и Мирко фон Шлиффен, но масштабы впечатляют: 31 композиция, записанная в содружестве с лучшими вокалистами, бонусный третий диск, содержащий компиляцию любимых треков и, в придачу ко всему, DVD с видеоработами по новым и старым хитам. Проходных треков на альбоме просто нет. Атмосфера старогерманской легенды чередуется с видами современного Берлина. Музыка для всех, кто хочет путешествовать во времени.

1. Olga Kouklaki – Getalife [idm, electro, minimal]
Греческая певица выпускает свой дебютный альбом во Франции, заручившись поддержкой таких монстров электронной музыки, как Блекстроуб и Волга Селект. В итоге мы можем встречать новую восходящую звезду. Модные тенденции минимал-техно сочетаются с айдиэм-ритмами и невероятно цепляющим вокалом. Так могла бы звучать Elektrochemie, перейдя в idm.

2. Kirsty Hawkshaw – The Ice Castle [ambient]
Кристально чистый звук и невероятная атмосфера северного полюса. Наслаждение пустотой и одиночеством посреди ледяных глыб. Невероятный эффект присутствия. Музыка, созданная для того, чтобы под нее мечтать.

3. Miss Kittin – Batbox [electroclash]
Фирменный юмор, невероятная энергетика и заряд бодрости на каждый день. В новом альбоме стало чуть больше экспериментов со звуком: Кэролайн пробует свои силы даже в трансе. Всем ведьмам и вампирам слушать обязательно.
Key tracks: Kittin is High, Metalhead, Pollution of the Mind.

4. JES – Into The Dawn [lounge, melodic trance]
Просто очень приятный альбом, под который можно расслабиться, отдохнуть или погрустить. Эмбиентные ремиксы на песни с дебютного альбома - Disconnect и пара новых треков, один из которых является кавером на Пинк Флойд.
Key tracks: Heaven (Myon Remix), It's You I Need, Breaking Me.

5. Portishead – Third [trip-hop]
Портисхед вернулись после десятилетнего перерыва, почти не изменив своего фирменного стиля. Это особая музыка, требующая особого настроения. Эх, лучше бы альбом вышел осенью)

6. Raz Ohara & Odd Orchestra - Raz Ohara & Odd Orchestra [leftfield]
Дебютный альбом человека, которого мы знаем благодаря альбому Аппарата - Walls. Раз Охара, оказывается, не только вокалист, но и талантливый клавишник, сопровождавший Сашу Ринга во время мирового тура Аппарат Бенда. На альбоме мы слышим как его фортепианные опусы, так и уже довольно знакомый голос. Некоторые треки довольно неплохи, но все же, до уровня Аппарата, сравнений с которым тяжело удержаться, здесь далековато.

7. AGF – Words Are Missing [idm]
Очередной альбом берлинской королевы айдиэм и просто самого творчески сумасшедшего человека в мире. Ну кто еще кроме нее сможет додуматься петь html-код? Музыка получилась яркой, вызывающей различные образы и ассоциации, альбом концептуально продуман, но все же, слишком сложен для восприятия.

8. Autechre - Quaristice [idm]
Эту работу фанаты Отекр ждали очень долго. И ожидали чего угодно. От механического истязания ушей и музыки, которую смогут слушать только роботы до возвращения к истокам - мелодичным композициям, приятным для слуха. В итоге получили что-то среднее. Есть здесь и эмбиент и страшные нагромождения ударных. Не знаю, что хотели показать Отекр, укоротив все треки до 2-3 минут и перемешав их в абсолютно хаотичном порядке, но получилось что-то абсолютно нелогичное. Нет никакой общей нити, связывающей все эти композиции. Мастера головоломок сделали свое дело.

9. Orkidea – Metaverse [uplifting trance]
Этот альбом был очень громко проанонсирован: совместные работы с Энди Муром и Соларстоун. Ремиксы на Nightwish, Way out West и заглавную тему с "Реквиема по мечте". А в итоге получилось серо. Для трансовой дискотеки подойдет, но ждали мы намного большего.

10. Sander van Doorn – Supernaturalistic [tech-trance]
После просто отменного трека Grasshopper, я надеялся, что весь альбом будет выдержан в подобном духе. То есть, Сендер сможет удержаться на шаткой грани между трансом и минимал-техно. Но, в итоге, он не смог. Или просто не захотел.

Десятитысячным треком стааааал JES - Heaven (Fonzerelli Remix).И не случайно :).Знакомство с ней началось именно с этого трека,а именно ремикса,потому что оригинал меня почему то не вставил... :).Трек Heaven надолго завоевал мое сердце,ибо редко в трансе встретишь хороший вокал да и очень чарующую музыку,от которой у тебя потом идут мурашки... :) Следующая песня которую я услышал,была People Will Go (Steve Forte Rio Remix).Как то случайно увидел комментарии к этой песне на одном сайте,все они были только положительные,ну я и решил заценить...И не капельки не пожалел !! Я не слышал оригинала,но думаю мне он не очень понравится.В ремиксе Steve Forte Rio это тааак охрененно.Такой вокал,тааакие ритмы...просто охренеть !!!! Уже идет второй день,а я слушаю только ее...потом посмотрю сколько заскробблилось треков :).Этот трек впервые появился в альбоме Dj Tiesto - In Search of Sunrise vol.5 (Los Angeles).Я очень большой фанат творчества Dj Tiesto,но почему то этот трек в его альбоме я пропустил...да и как я узнал потом позже от одного человека,он был плохо разрекламирован,его мало где ставили на радио,и мало включали в сборники транса...Но я удивляюсь не этому,а тому что этот трек 2006 года,и он в стиле progressive trance,а в те годы рулил trance.Прогрессив только развивался,и почти вся музыка в этом направлении была гауном...)Эх плохо что только сейчас меня зацепил этот трек,да и вообще все творчество этой исполнительницы...=).Но я все равно не жалею,потому что сейчас я только и делаю что наслаждаюсь музыкой JES... =)

I feel slightly accomplished. My artist page on Last.fm has reached over 100 listeners, which is kind of a strange feeling knowing as of right now 184 other people have listened to something I wrote and produced.

I've just released and uploaded on Last.fm my new single, See You Smile & Hear You Laugh. I definitely feel that the first track, See You Smile is my best work to date.

I hope anyone that happens across this journal at least listens to both tracks, and anyone who does listen, any comments you have are very welcome and appreciated.

JES the beautiful vocalist of 'Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes' whish is a collaboration with Gabriel & Dresden, and the voice of 'Dj Tiesto - Everything' and also 'Solarstone - Like A Waterfall' which was featured on the 'In Search of Sunrise' series that Dj Tiesto produces, has released her own artist album 'Disconnect' on the well known label Black Hole in Europe and is now being released on Ultra Records in the United States of America and Canada. We were able to sit down with Jes prior to her appearance with Dj Tiesto's Element of Life Concert tour in 2007.

For whoever read journals, following are my thoughts of the day...

So today was the end-of-term day at school after nearly two weeks of leisure, as I wasn't elected for any oral exam. Got up at ~09:10 am after 7 hours sleep... Tired as hell I got ready and went to catch the bus. I could have went by bike, but scool treats me with free bus rides because of the distance and my bus card exipired today, so I wanted to exploit the last chance. Besides I had planned to walk home, just for the sake of it... walking home and listen to the new fresh music I put on my muvo tx yesterday.

I felt really bad from the second I got up this morning; the usual routine feeling; another loop of the evil sircle... Not that a routine is bad, but the feelings connected to mine don't have any good intentions...

Actually I thought it was monday, seeing as I used to start at 10:00 am on mondays this year, until someone in my class asked what day it was and the teacher answered friday. Desorientated? Oh yes. *sigh*

So I got ready, went by the bus and arrived at school. That was when my head phones broke; a set of decent ear plugs by Phillips which managed to prove itself as garbage, seeing this was the second set I've bought from that brand this year, both broken by the same cause: the leader within the line tore apart by the plug... crap. And yet I decided to get another set from Phillips, but of the type that you put around your neck; less wear and tear from causual use, as I would put the player in the pocket and squeeze the line behind my belt to hold back redundant lenght (I like to draw the line under my shirt and let the plugs hang from the collar when not in use). On the other hand, I quickly realized I didn't really enjoy having the mp3-player bouncing on my belly as I walk - thank God it's matchbox sized and pretty light weighted. <3

I was the second person to enter our classroom this morning... feeling sad and quite low because of my anxiety (messed up emotions...), I sat down and just waited for everything to get over and done with... I recieved the print of my (rather tragic) grades and left... I was hoping to see and have a chat with one of the class mates I've got in touch with at school this year, but I couldn't make it... I just felt my guts twist and had to get out of there...

I walked home...really depressed... At first I decided to get a new pair of ear plugs at the local el-store. With doubt in mind, I ended up buying the set I mentioned; phillips neckband style. Then I went to the grocery store in the same street and bought myself a smoothie. Yum. And at last I decided to enter the mall acros the street, intentionally to see if the local record shop had any of the great albums I've recently discovered... which they of course did not. I asked for Poets of the Fall, JES, Röyksopp's album "Melody A.M." and Conjure One (last one's probably not shipping outside of Canada anyway...) But at least they had "Beautiful Intentions (New Edition)" by Melanie C, whom I've gotten quite into over the past weeks... alternative/pop/rock. Pretty nice actually, though I'd rather have her debut album "Northern Star", which has far more variety [ Goin' Down | I Turn to You | Never Be The Same Again (Single Edit) | Feel the Sun ]. But they only had this one, so it will do for now. Better than nothing. Hopefully it will grow on me.

I went to another grocery shop at the mall after burning a note on a somewhat satisfying CD purchace, and bought a bar of white chocolate - (Delicious! And it's the only shop in town that I know of which sells it) - before I finalized my little mall trip by looking around in some clothing stores. I found a pretty decent pair of trousers/shorts at one store and this lovely snap pant at another -- asked one of the shopkeepers to reserve it for me 'till tomorrow, as both ends didn't meet in my wallet at that point... It was the last remaining in my size..

I left the mall and sat down by some stairs outside the building. I unpacked the new neckband headset, and eagerly put them on and tied the strap to my mp3-player. Nifty! I loved it right away! So I sat there for just a short while, trying to enjoy my smoothie in the sun, listening to my music with new earplugs and feeling the warm breeze passing by. The summer is here...
