I fell asleep with my iPod on at about 3 O'clock 6/30, woke up with my randomize only on track 23. I thought nothing of it! Until I decide... "Hey, I'll go for a 2 hour walk." So after I had already started my walk, the songs won't play. The iPod will be on play but the songs will remain at 0:00 time. So, I reset my iPod today on the first, and readded songs. Still doesn't work. Time to replace it, it seems! R.I.P.

Ás vezes eu me pego pensando no meio artístico, não só na parte musical, mas também entre atores, apresentadores e fico “divagando” sobre como deve ser a vida deles, principalmente se sempre existe o prazer no que fazem ou às vezes tudo se torna apenas mais um compromisso a cumprir. Levando um pouco essa conversa pro lado musical, deve ser legal ter uma banda conhecida, mas ao mesmo tempo tudo fica tão corrido (pelo que a gente vê por aí) que já deve ser difícil ver os amigos que possuem outras bandas. Tocar com eles então, deve ser mais complicado ainda.

E é exatamente aí que eu quero chegar. Recentemente aqui no Brasil tivemos a criação do Rockfellas, um projeto concebido por Paul Di’Anno, Canisso, Marcão e Jean Dolabella, que visava tocar os clássicos do Rock em uma pequena turnê. Não pude ver o projeto ao vivo, mas ouvi e li comentários extremamente positivos. Confesso que não sei como anda o projeto atualmente, mas é uma iniciativa legal. Fora daqui também temos exemplos e um deles é o motivo principal dessa coluna. Será que você que está lendo esta coluna já ouviu falar em Camp Freddy?!



Poderia ser só mais uma banda fundada nos EUA para tocar Rock. Existem tantas escondidas que corremos o risco de se perder no mundo das novidades. Mas o Camp Freddy não é uma banda. Na verdade, é só um grupo de musicos bem conhecidos (como vocês podem ver pelas fotos) que saem pelos EUA fazendo shows e fazendo covers de clássicos do bom e velho rock and roll.

Como os integrantes costumam dizer, “Camp Freddy não é uma banda, mas é mais do que uma banda cover, banda de festa ou apenas uma banda de uma noite. Camp Freddy é um acontecimento ocasional, uma natureza criada em Hollywood”.



É tão poético que eu decidi procurar mais coisas sobre o encontro e descubro que ele foi criado por Billy Morrison (The Cult/Circus Diablo), Dave Navarro (JANE’S ADDICTION/The Panic Channel), Matt Sorum (Velvet Revolver), Donovan Leitch (filho de Donovan Frankenreiter), Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction/Alanis Morrisette) e Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots). Weiland acabou deixando o projeto um tempo depois, passando a fazer participações esporádicas em alguns shows e, é aí que está a parte mais legal do Camp Freddy. Além do já excelente time acima, que já valeria a entrada em qualquer festinha na terra do Tio Sam, eles ainda saem convidando todo mundo que conhecem para se apresentar com a banda.



Todos esses convites (e foram muitos) já renderam (muitas) participações que eu com certeza pagaria para ver. Já imaginou “Highway To Hell” do AC/DC tocada por eles e cantada por Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day)? Ou então Brandon Boyd (Incubus) cantando “Satisfaction” dos Stones com Morrison, Navarro, Sorum, Leitch e Chaney acompanhando?

Os dois exemplos acima surgiram da minha cabeça e não sei se eles realmente cantaram essas músicas, mas Billy e Brandon participaram de apresentações do Camp Freddy e, para aqueles que gostam de boa música, creio eu que seria muito válido comparecer a um desses shows, que vão de apresentações em clubes de strip-tease e festas particulares em mansões até a festas para a Sony, Paramount e outras grandes corporações com sede nos Estados Unidos.



Afinal, vai que “dá a louca” no Navarro e nos demais e eles decidem convidar o Billy Idol, Brett Scallions (Riders on Storm), Chad Smith, Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Chino Moreno (Deftones), Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Courtney Love, Cypress Hill, Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver), Fabrizio Moretti (The Strokes), Gavin Rossdale (Bush, Institute), Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Joe Satriani, Juliette Lewis, Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Moby, Ozzy Osbourne, Pat Monahan (Train), Paul Stanley (KISS), Pink, Robbie Williams, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) Slash (Velvet Revolver), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), The Pussycat Dolls, Tom Morello ou o Tommy Lee (Motley Crüe) para participarem da festa, como já aconteceu desde a primeira reunião do grupo.

Só sei que eu gostaria muito de ver uma banda que tivesse na “cozinha” Edgard Scandurra, Tony Belotto, Fê Lemos e Bi Ribeiro e os vocais por conta de André Gonzáles, do Móveis Coloniais de Acaju. Todos rodando o Brasil tocando clássicos do rock nacional (por favor, nacional) e com inúmeros convidados à disposição.
