Jonsu (vocals, violin), Heini (bass), Sirkku (keyboards), Jenny (guitar) and Laura (drums) founded Indica in 2001. Before this the girls had already spent their entire childhood surrounded by classical music and had also played in a few different band line-ups. In the Christmas of 2002 Indica signed a management contract with Peter Kokljuschin and in 2003 a record deal with SonyMusic, leading to Indica starting work on their debut album.
The album was co-produced by Gabi Hakanen and Erno Laitinen, and from here began the journey of Indica and Erno together which took them through three albums. The 30,000 platinum-selling debut album Ikuinen virta was released in 2004, and from this album the title track as well as the song Scarlett were released as singles. Indica’s second record Tuuliset tienoot was released in the autumn of 2005 and went on to sell over 20,000 discs, and the third album Kadonnut puutarha was released in spring 2007.

"It fits Jonsu's voice more than English, IMO." I agree with this. Jonsu sounds a bit... screechy when she sings in English. I hope it's just because she's not as used to singing in English, and that she'll improve over time. But right now... Finnish > English.

Ewww ~? English songs? For real? Do not want =|. Finnish language is based on musicality and harmony, and listening to them was just pleasure. Few ones that used the finnish not as a different kind of Deutch (like, Rammstein-like, lulz, ridiculous) but as it was meant to be =\. Really really hope for, at least, an HB-like solution: Albums both in english that in finnish.

Just discovered this band, and i really like the vocals :) The tempo and rhythm in the music is also good, so "A Way Away" has gotten quite a few plays over the last couple of days :D

Great that you like 'em^^. I wasn't aware of Indica's music either... Thank God that I've seen 'em live as a support act for Nightwish so that I got to know 'em! I hope that the next album is somewhat like AWA, part 2, with one or two songs in Finnish ;)
