This is my repository for the tracks that I come across as being wrong while listening to last.fm radio. Set 23 2009, 20h33 por Bertels

Tue 22 Sep – Anna Ternheim De Duif, Amsterdam.

Coach Bertels was busy, all weekend, putting chocolates in plastic: Cashew nuts, Para nuts, Dates, coffee beans, Banana chips and even strawberries, all in nice milk, white and pure chocolate coats.
These preparations were necessary for the annual Zutphen Chocolate Festival, an event in which the city evolves around chocolate.
The record attempt longest bonbon failed due to faulty power supplies, but the people didn’t care, they just tasted around and got chocolate satisfaction.
Coach Put up two market stands and ran all day to keep them provided with chocolate and during these hectic days Bertels somehow managed to build up a foot problem that manifested itself after the chocolate dust had settled and all was silent again.
Limping around like an old cripple that Monday, Coach was happy to have a meeting in the morning and a course in the afternoon. Precious foot ache recovery time!
The next day was better, and as more and more colleagues asked what had happened, Bertels told them an unbelievable story about a hamster attack.
Working in tropical conditions that day, Coach was thinking Anna all the time, because of the concert in Amsterdam that very evening.
Word spread that Anna would leave her band in Sweden and travel around now with only acoustic guidance, a far more intimate setting which should give her voice and lyrics a better chance to blossom. As the working day ended Coach walked almost civilized again and went home to get ready for a night in a church with Anna! The usual bike ride to the station was refreshing and Coach had to wait just ten minutes at the platform.
Arriving at Amsterdam Central with a thousand other folks going everywhere, Bertels slipped into a pizza hut and digested Hawaiian dreams with BaCo fluids.
After dinner Coach walked to the Dam Square and on to the Regulier Dwarsstraat, where a small pub had to be visited, as some sort of weird tradition. Whilst talking (with the bartender) about rents, statues in Russian hands, and four pensions, several beers were drawn and emptied just to fill the hole in time.
Then Coach found strength and walked on to the Duif, an old church situated along one of the many magnificent canals. This church is used by Paradiso to give intimate concerts that they cannot program in their own venue (because of too many teen trash kiddo events). A fair trade, actually, because of the great atmosphere one gets in special locations like a church.
Coach was delighted to find rows of seats for the visitors, with a fresh drink Bertels walked the lines and negotiated for an empty seat in the middle of a cluster chatting folks. The seat was granted to Coach and an immediate conversation with the elder neighbour gentleman, from the south, revealed that he came for Anna, since she is Heather Nova’s younger substitute to him.
Finally a side door opened and out came two guys and Anna Ternheim, she sat down and took the guitar, while the two guys accompanied her with pluckin bass and matured guitar. The first songs had a great impact on the crowd, as nobody dared to breath, so overwhelmed by this nice pure angels voice! Anna herself was slightly intimidated by the silence, but kept on going enlightening the crowd. She sat there singing “Black Sunday afternoon” with closed eyes and one hand in the air touching air notes. Several times she switched over to piano and for some songs the two male musicians left the stage. Everybody in the church was enchanted by the music, voice, acoustics and the place itself.
A common sense of happiness floated free and Saint Nicholas overlooked it all.
From time to time some half the crowd got blinded by amateur photographers using flashes, but no one dared to stop them, afraid of loosing the great atmosphere.
Time flew like a mocking bird and after the last song folks started to rise during the applause, it became a standing ovation! All stood and clapped, until she got back and did some more songs. Then she left the stage again and the crowd jumped up to clap her back a second time.
This time she did a unplugged song with the two lads as chorus, very silent and funny.
The end, for real. Bertels climbed old stairs in search for a toilet when he spotted three pussy cat dolls purring and fooling around some drapes on the, further abandoned, balcony.
Downstairs CD’s were sold an d Bertels was delighted to see a vinyl version of Leaving on a mayday, Coach carried a copy home.
Waiting at the tram stop, Coach discovered the tram line to be cancelled for construction works, so a walk to the Rembrandsplein was a necessity.
From here Bertels got to central station safe and hopped into the train, leaving Amsterdam immediately. What a great concert, what a great night!

Because I love this sort of thing, let's face it...

'First, make a list of your overall top-20 artists. Then, for each of these artists, add the 8 most similar artists to your list. Delete any duplicates, add up the number of entries on your list and this will give you some idea of how eclectic your listening habits are. A score of 9 represents an extremely unvaried musical taste while a 160 represents an extremely varied one.'

  • Walk This World With Me - Heather Nova @ Centralstation DA
