I have listened to Harold Budd for many years. I still have old cassette tapes of his music I can't part with. Fortunately, I have a nice shelf stereo in my work room that includes a cassette deck -- that was an essential for me. I am so pleased to find so much Harold Budd and other similar space and ambiant music here.

Когда звучат эти переливы пианино, синтезаторов, гитары и .....много чего ещё, в моём сердце начинают мелькать кадры..... Смотришь на это всё и слышишь, как же на самом деле всё это круто! I always wondered, how does it come that such a great and in some way unique artist has relatively low number of scrobbles at last.fm. Untill I discovered that the aggregate amount of scrobbles of all his collaborations, typos of his name etc here, at last.fm, constitutes more than 1.6 mln scrobbles what is closer to intensity of his greatness within the ambient music!

Lyrant, check La Bella Vista, it's pure Budd on a grand piano playing for a bunch of guests at a party at Daniel Lanois' house. Harold wasn't aware he was being recorded on some tracks. (check liner notes online if you get the mp3s)

After all this time, I still find The White Arcades to be one of the purest manifestations of bliss in sound ever recorded. Such a tranquil and atmospheric record, even more so than his collaborations with Eno. The Room and Lovely Thunder come close, but they can't reach the greatness of The White Arcades.

Before the rest there was Harold! glad he hasn't retired yet. pavilion of dreams is all time classic. This and the Walking the Waves album by Irish composer Francis Xavier ( http://www.francisxavier.net ) have to be my fave chill out food right now.
