  • Mornings.

    Mar 3 2006, 2h58 por ohhsoeclectic

What I listen to in the morning determines the rest of my day; one wrong click on the ipod and my day can turn out awful. I don't listen to any music until after I have had my coffee, the song I play needs to be a conscious decision. However, it isn't always an easy decision, lots of variables are involved, how sleepy I am, what I am doing that day, if I did my Economics homework that day or not, etc. So every morning I get up ready for school and pick my songs as I wait for the city bus to come, then listen to it for the 20 minute ride/ walk to school.
So here are some options for the mornings: (some are artists, some are genres but ehh.)
1)Noise Rock (ex. Boredoms, Lightning Bolt, Hella, The Intelligence, A-Frames, Coachwhips, maybe various no-wave bands)
This is a common choice for me. It's the “damn, why hasn't my coffee kicked in yet!” choice. If I choose this I will probably be awake during my first hour but be very cynical. The school day will inevitably culminate in a 2 hour nap when I get home.

Must deify Marc Bolan and have own equipment. Drugs/alcohol mandatory. Unhealthy obsession with Guitar Wolf a plus but not mandatory. Ok, fuck it, it is mandatory. Must try to avoid killing yourself until after our first 7".

Anyone meeting these requirements and currently living in the Winston-Salem area may contact me via this journal or by looking under the barstools at The Saloon.
  • A to Z of favorite bands.

    Fev 19 2006, 8h20 por not_jason

I noticed somebody else had done this on here, and it looked fun. This isn't an "all time favorite thing", just what I happened to feel at this precise moment.

I is for Interpol (I don't listen to many "I" bands)
    J is for Jawbreaker
    K is for Kimya Dawson
L is for Less Than Jake
M is for The Mae Shi
    N is for Nada Surf
O is for OZMA, at least until I start listening to more of Montreal
P is for The Postal Service (and thusly I lose my elitist lisence)
    Q is for Q and Not U
R is for The Robot Ate Me
    S is for Superdrag
T is for Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
    U is for The Unicorns
V is for The Velvet Teen

  • My Top Artists [Nov. 27 - Dec. 4]

    Dez 5 2005, 1h32 por frieskoh

Another strange week ! My top ten seems a bit unusual, filled with moments, bursts of passion for some artists. This isn't this relevant for me, but for the statistics, yeah . . .

    1. The Long Blondes - No way, first again... This week was low on the Long Blondes, but i get the new single on friday... i think i listened to it a lot !!
    You don't know them . . . well, just listen !!

    2. Serge Gainsbourg - He's simply the greatest french artist ever, a genius... music, lyrics, everything, between 1958 ans 1977, his discography is fantastic !! Just get a hold on it, for non-french, listen to his masterpiece Histoire de Melody Nelson

    3. The Velvet Underground - Sunday evening, i watched a documentary on Andy Warhol, you can imagine what happened, yeah, i listen to the Velvet Underground all night long. A great band with a great songs. This could sound a little easy, but this is it !! One of the greatest band ever, you can't doubt it !

    last.fm rant:
today the server's dead again, it's really no fun. it happeded at about 4 in the afternoon PDS. instead i wasted my time watching the users' new journal post. at times i got so bored that i commented in them as well. my apologies to the victums

corrected the userinfo a bit. but really have nothing to add than my tendency to musical eclecticism and my language abilities (that was probably a failed subliminal message to talk to me). oh well really..

also i tried to figure out the AS signature. meaning that i tried to upload it on the php server according to RecentlyPlayedImageV2 wiki. didn't really work out. it said:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imageftbbox() in /home/freehost/t35.com/t/e/telltale/assiggie/RPI.php on line 224
so i gave up. freehosting sucks, hence im waiting till september to buy my own net.space. yeah dreams... but in reality im just too lazy to check out that code on line 224

    music-wise:
