O CD também incluiu as bandas Misty’s Big Adventure, Mike in Mono, Dreams Of Tall Buildings e X Is Greater Than Y.

I agree.. although the reviews were bad Red is not that bad. at first I wasn't pleased with the album, but after a while I think I got used to it. It wasn't what I expected when I first heard it, but I think thats good to be surprised sometimes.

hmm...yeah, i reckon you guys are being harsh on red. its not as good as 'through the window pane', thats obvious straight away, but there's still something there. the fact that three tracks from red fall in the top ten most played on here says that people do appreciate that album. i certainly think its good, even if it seems like a disapointment after the sheer magnificance of 'through the window pane'. if you won't listen to it because its got bad reviews then i think you're foolish...

Found this group looking for bands that 'sound like The Go! Team'. That's quite a stretch, Last.fm! But this is excellent stuff nonetheless. Plan to keep my eyes peeled the next time I go to the record shop.

Compared to through the windowpane Red sucks. If you manage to avoid comparing them, it's a good album.

I love Through the Windowpane it is a beautiful album, at first I wasn't sure what to make of Red but I really like it. It is different to the Windowpane album but I prefer that than getting bored of someone spilling out exactly the same sound all the time. I think the Guillemots experiment and for me it works.

_labrinthe, I wouldn't describe the songs from red as 'beautiful'; the maybe most through the window pane-esque-beautiful songs are still a bit lyrically... CRAP really. Oh, and I didn't realise that Red was the outcome as the whole band working together instead of what was Fyfe's "genius", as they said themselves (bar Fyfe), as through the window pane was his really. Little fact for anyone who's interested. Personally, if it was just Fyfe that made TTWP and the old beauts amazing, I'd be happy for him to pursue a solo career etc etc etc.

At first listen, I didn't enjoy Red very much. But after listening to it a little bit, it's actually really good. It's different, but amazing. Everyone should definitely give it another try. But yeah I listened to Get Over It and I was highly disappointed... but now that I've listened to the cd in its entirety, everything just flows so smoothly.

I borrowed Red from the library (it was the only Guillemots CD they had, pah!!) and I was a bit disappointed with it, but then again I EXPECTED to be, after hearing such bad reviews about it! So I don't know what I would've thought had I listened to it without any kind of expectation... Although 'Take Me Home' is a good track! But yeah, some of the other songs aren't as beautiful/poetic as the ones on Through the Windowpane. Le sigh. But have a listen anyway!

Through the Windowpane is probably one of my personal top 25 records, but I haven't even thought about buying Red. I'm afraid to get as disappointed as everyone else seems to be.

Red doesn't suck, not in my opinion. there are some beautiful songs on the album. it's different, yes. very different from Through the Windowpane. it took me a few listens to recognise the good tunes, but they're definitely there. you just have to give it a change.
