I totally missed this guy ↓. I like the new song: I definitely want to hear the new material. (and maybe see it @ Kinetik 2010/11?).

@ Drugs: Huh, I have no idea what youre talking about. O_o I never spoke to you before. @ Thalassa: Partially right. @ Drugs again: Psyclon Nine's lyrics arent bad at all, but it seems to me on occasion like hes trying too hard.

But you got to face the fact that Nietzsche and random throwing of words from a dictionary are closer together than we might think xD

The new track would be sick if he didn't sound so much like Andy LaPlegua. Bring back the Harsh Generation style vocals and it would be good.

I already read what you did write, I'm not blind but I simply don't agree with you. I was (and still am) pretty deep in punk (especially in Oi! punk which is entirely based on slang). I didn't said at all that I want lyrics with "100 billions of rarely used words", I just said I don't like the current lyric direction which has Grendel taken. But this just one song, we'll have to wait for the whole EP to make future reviews. And btw didn't you said on some band's shoutbox (I think it's DOA's but I'm not sure) that P9's lyrics are deeply intelligent based on Nietzsche and his Antichrist or something like that? And now you say those lyrics are just "randomly thrown words from dictionary".

... while - offcourse - this new Grendel song just flows. "Yeah", "man", "coke" and the whole trance and techno feel of the song really fits well to the harsh EBM structure. Best Grendel song till now.

No. I will repeat what I said: "Its pure fucking cyberPUNK. And punks dont use exotic verbs like goths etc. This is straight-in-your-face cyberpunk feel. This new song BEGS to be served next to Philip. K. Dick and William Gibson (ESPECIALLY the latter) novel or book. " Since I know youre into horror stuff you wouldnt understand. "Yeah", "man" - punk / common man slang. Thats it. Why do you think every song or every artist has to have 100 billions of rarely used words in the lyrics? If you want randomly thrown words from dictionary as lyrics then listen to Psyclon Nine. His lyrics are OK but he pretty much just tries to hard.

I don't find words like "yeah" to be "straight in your face style" tbh, they sound more like a replacement for a lack of inspiration.

Im kinda shocked how much I like this new song... I really disliked Harsh Generation cause it sounded extremely cheesy to me but this new stuff is... W.O.W. Its interesting how Grendel is still dark... but more punkish and less 'gothier', so to speak. EX-CE-LLE-NT. Im sure upcoming stuff will be their best till now. IMHO Chemicals + Circutry is THE BEST Grendel song up till date. It has atmosphere and aggresion of P: M and older albums, however alot of other influences and experimentations. @ Thellesa: I guess then we just agree to disagree. I think "Harsh Generation" is worst Grendel record.

So, listening through the song a couple of more times makes me liking it more... Not bad, though I liked the music before, just can't be satisfied with the vox... Let's see what the EP brings and then we'll go further..And what about Harsh Generation? It was harder than the other Grendel releases, faster and more trance influenced... Not that tracks like One.Eight.Zero or End of ages are bad but the releases always contained some crap on them. Harsh Generation has a 40-minute Playtime but those 40 minutes pass without recognizing. I hate releases where the listener feels like taking twice the time for listening. HG had heights and depths and it was wonderfully balanced.

I just don't know what to think about the new song. I must admit I don't like the vocal change very much but the thing I don't like the most are lyrics. I mean "yeah" and "man" parts in the verse, w00t?

:S Seems im the only guy who thinks new album will kill Harsh Generation which was IMHO the only album I didnt liked by Grendel. I fail to see why people dont like new stuff. But then again I failed to see what people actually LIKE about Harsh Generation though.

@Kheryon: It'll be a balance, as Grendel albums always do. EPs take a new element on full force, in this case the vocal experimentation, and the Albums deliver a balance between old and new. Best of both worlds, so to speak. Majority of people like this, so that's cool.

Strange new sound, but the new song sounds good. But I heard that the "new vocals" are only in that song, the new cd will be more like the old ones, like Harsh Generation. The music is still Grendel. We'll see when the album come out.
