Glasvegas é uma banda escocesa de Dalmarnock, Glasgow. A banda é composta por James Allan (vocal e guitarra), Rab Allan (guitarra e backing vocal), Paul Donoghue (baixo) e Caroline McKay (batera).
Influenciados por Phil Spector, Smiths e Jesus and Mary Chain, dentre outros.
“Daddy´s Gone”, single lançado em novembro de 2007, foge das letras românticas convencionais, fala sobre pais que se separam dos filhos e da familia, um assunto nada peculiar pra letra de banda pop, mas eles conseguiram fazer disso uma das melhores músicas de 2007.
Após o lançamento do novo single “It´s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry” em fevereiro de 2008, a banda assinou contrato com a Columbia Records.

The Christmas album is miles better. Gotta give it to James Allan for having steadfast artistic vision. Though the lyrics still tend to bring tears (of laughter) to my eyes, but at least if I try hard I can just pretend I don't understand his accent...

Just gave the self-titled record a listen last night. It's a tricky one. Its easy to say their style/sound has little to no variety and that most songs sound the same, however this is brilliant song writing. James Allan's lyrics are very real and intriguing. Their rise from obscurity to stardom in roughly 12 months worries me...

Hottuna! the thing is i thought i was- i was trying to let you see the errors of your ways - but like the old man standing on the street corner shouting through a traffic cone that we are all doomed and going to die in hells fire - you carry right on beleiving yet not seeing. this band are the pitts! i can see why you like them but you are being conned! like drinking panda cola when you've never had coke!! its sweet and lovely!
