So, I think I've discovered the perfect way to get past a shitty mood. What you need is a good metaphorical kick in the ass by a friend, followed by three hours in the center of a beer-soaked moshpit which results in two days of impaired hearing, and finished off by the early-morning exercise of making a melancholy mixtape that turns out more hopeful than sad in the end. Therapy through music, bitches; tested and proven.

As you can probably guess, this is that tape. I like it a lot. In fact, I think it's close to my favorite mix that I've ever made, that's how well it turned out. It's not what I would call 'happy' (I didn't intend for it to be), but it has a strange stream of reassurance and optimism running through it. Aside from a couple of tracks it's very subdued, and almost the entire thing is acoustic. If there's any mix I've posted that I think everyone should at least try, this is it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

1. They Might Be Giants ooo this hard insult them? Sometimes you Johns sing very nasaled.

2. Ramones I like them, I love them. I weep about CBGBs still (not literally but), but did these guys know more than 3 chords? Not only that the progression of all their songs is the same.

3. Theme Songs Since this is NOT really an artist thats my insult. I hate that its tagged wrong, I hate that i have no idea who wrote half the 100's of themes I have are. Which brings me to my point, even if I did I'd still rather have it tagged as theme song... unless its something like Nerf Herders Buffy Theme or Darling Violetta theme to Angel..one that you know but seriously who knows who wrote House MD, My Two dads?

4. Thelonious Monk Sometimes its a little boring..but at some point lots of jazz can be....

5. Five Iron Frenzy Your lyrics are sometimes really fucking cheesy.

6. Rush I'll never bang Geddy Lee damn it... no seriously though Geddy Lee sounds like a girl sometimes, I hate that.

7. Get Set Go its the same thing over and over and over again.

8. James Brown Sometimes I think he plays into 'that' sterotype.

9. Nirvana Actually I think they are kind of overrated....flame on!

10. New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble I barely know one song by them, yet somehow they weazled up the chart this far.

10. The Smashing Pumpkins Billy looked horrible after he cut his hair, I've never seem them live but I hear the suck live...and their new stuff isn't anywhere as good as the old stuff. They peaked with Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

12. Goo Goo Dolls They are so soft rock, "mom rock" now, I love the old Hold Me Up but that Dizzy Up the Girl is crap and so is most their new stuff.

13. Green Day They are kinda huge sell outs..In my opinion 'punk' shouldn't be all political....

14. CKY its kinda skater stoner rock, which sometimes I don't get.

15. Relient K Its so pop its irritating.

17. Chevelle I think they changed the members too much I really hate that especially when people from other bands join.

18. Polynesian Musicians The chants sometimes make my ears bleed....

19. New York Dolls While I LOVE them, I think they should JUST STOP touring... I think half the original band is gone....and the new stuff isn't as good.

20. Guns N' Roses had ONE good CD, thats it...

21. Metallica They are kind of cocky, and their attitude really pisses me off.

22. The Arrogant Worms I don't know enough about them to insult them....

23. Bob Marley & The Wailers OMG, I don't even like this band. I have them on my computer, from when I took "Roots, Rock, and Reggae" class....all the stuff sounds the same, and maybe since I don't get high I don't get it, but music like this that meant to relax you gets me very tense, I hate that they are this high on my chart....

24. Barenaked Ladies Sometimes I hate music thats always silly, write serious things sometimes, it won't kill you.

24. blink-182 Poppy, blah, and eh. Also IMO crashed and didn't fade away, but damn they were hot.
