GAVIN DEGRAW, nasceu ao sul Fallsburg, NY. Desde pequeno demonstrou interesse pela música, “Quando tinha 8 anos, os meus pais contrataram uma professora de piano para os meus irmãos. No entanto, não havia dinheiro o bastante para os 3 terem aula. Fiquei triste, mas pra minha sorte, minha irmã não se interessou pelo piano e eu pude ter aulas no lugar dela.” diz ele.

Filho de uma especialista em Detox e de um ex-rockstar e guarda de prisão, Gavin lembra-se de quando decidiu ser um músico: “Fui com o meu pai assistir ao show do Billy Joel, e toda a interação dele com o público e a música, me fizeram pensar que aquilo era o que queria fazer pelo resto da minha vida.” O apoio dos pais também foi importante, “Durante o show meu pai olhou para mim e viu a minha reação e ele perguntou: ‘É isso o que você quer fazer da vida?’, tomei um susto. Parei. Respondi que sim” . Durante a adolescência, começou a escrever suas próprias composições por sugestão do seu irmão e ingressou em bandas locais de covers.

I love that his first album is still topping the lastfm charts. His self-titled is amazing, but not half of what 'Chariot' was.
