The Long Blondes - Someone to Drive You Home

Even though I said 'in no particular order', I must say that this is my favorite album cover, ever. It's just... sexy. Worth mentioning that it was painted by the band's lead singer. Also: Fuck yeah, Faye Dunaway.
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

It's simple. That's pretty much it.
When I first listened to this album, I thought it was garbage. I mean, hey, it was just so... boring. But that was almost 4 years ago, and now it's one of the best things in my playlist.
Next!
Freezepop - Fancy Ultra-Fresh

You can't define Freezepop better than this. Not that colorful, but I think it captures the whole 'hey, we have stupid lyrics (not in a bad way) but we have so much fun. SO MUCH.' I dunno.
Android Lust - Devour, Rise, and Take Flight

I don't think there's much to talk about this one. I really like the drops of water and the wet hair.
The Blood Brothers - Crimes

Not their best album (though there are some great songs in it), but even I thought they couldn't possibly have a more random album cover (Burn, Piano Island, Burn is pretty weird, but I think not as much as this one. Young Machetes was just... I don't know. Didn't really fit, I think), here it is. I love the writing on the cover, too.
I believe in us.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Nocturama

I was between this one and No More Shall We Part, but in the end, Nocturama was my choice just because this album isn't even what you might call 'good', yet the cover still attracts me, somehow. Oh well, I must have a thing for old Nick there.
Ida Maria - Fortress 'Round My Heart

Maybe it's waaay too photoshopped, but I think the american album art for this one takes the cake. Love her eyes, and it's a great picture too. Fits the album's name.
Ednaswap - Ednaswap

It's a pity this band never took off. I bought their cds a few years ago, after I found out that Imbruglia's "Torn" wasn't actually hers. I got curious and hey - I found one of my favorite bands, ever. The "original" version is on the band's second album, Wacko Magneto (the cover isn't that good, which is why I chose the self-titled, but the art for the booklet is awesome. It's a Pinball table, and it even comes with a small steel sphere, which was a really nice concept) - but it should've been in this one. The cover says it all: this is a gritty album.
Hell, it even sounds better than most "grungy" stuff that was out at that time.
The Knife - Silent Shout

While their self-titled debut had no more than a handful of colors and a knife - and their second album had a metaphoric name, yet another surprisingly colorful cover, this one is pretty dark. In fact, everything about this album is 'darker' than their previous releases. Hell, even the "happiest" song here is about anorexia, which is a pretty deep theme. Karin's solo album after the band hiatus - Fever Ray - , didn't surprise me much thanks to that.
of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

Another one that really matches the songs. Well, it was to be expected, since this is a concept album. In contrast to Of Montreal's usual covers, this one takes things in a different way (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any covers before this one even had this much black on it). I think it's a way of saying 'hey, we're still the same band but things are getting a little different around here.' This album is much more personal (hence the whole Georgie Fruit thing), with Barnes writing about his relationship with Nina (The Past is A Grotesque Animal / Bunny Ain't no Kind of Rider).
Highlight:
"Stop! Hey! You must be aware I'm not alone
I've got a tigress back at home
And besides, you wouldn't know what to do with me"
