Overall I think it was a great year for heavy metal. I had a hard time putting in order the albums i liked so i decided to make the list randomly. It means that there were some really good albums this year :)

152: Very varied!

Interesting... I was expecting to eliminate more of these because of my fondness for hard alternative rock and Christian rock (despite the fact that I'm an atheist). Most people I know don't listen to video game soundtracks and classical music as often as I do, which may be what saved me. I love me some good ol' Gustav Holst. ;)

So, some people complain about the comparisons that Last.fm makes. Well check this out. Here are a few ridiculous comparisons Pandora made. Any female fronted gothic/symphonic is compared to Within Temptation and Nightwish
Most hard rock bands compared to Breaking Benjamin
And thrash metal compared to Metallica or Megadeth
And female fronted pop-country compared to Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood
