Who is the vocalist? It's great! The 'casual racism' wasn't really thought of as racist at the time, so I say let it be.

This was a great band, but a nit so good song. It's Rex Stewart on trumpet, and Coleman Hawkins on tenor sax. The intrumentalists nearly saved the god-awful singing.

Some rather cringe-making lyrics - though not as bad as "Shine". I'm trying to think up a tag which will alert people to the 1920s and 1930s songs with lyrics showing casual racism - but choosing an apposite tag is difficult.

Not one of Henderson's greatest tracks - but he can be forgiven since he was such an important pioneer swing band arranger. My guess Ben Webster might be playing on this, but I don't think the trumpet sounded like Louis (don't have time to pull down my reference materials)
