Farside lasted just over 10 years. Formed in 1989 by Rob Haworth and Bob Beshear, Farside would go on to release three full length LPs, a couple of 7”s and made appearances on several compilations (tracks from these will be posted soon). Initially inspired by bands like Husker Du, Bad Religion, Dag Nasty, early REM and the Descendents, Farside’s sound pre-dated a lot of current “emo” bands hitting the big time today. After several tours and lots of local shows, Farside called it quits in 2000 after demands from “real life” became to much to be financed by part time jobs and summer tours. Band members are currently scattered across the country enjoying life in various capacities. Anything else that you’re interested in, well, just drop us a line.

Hey there everyone!! I too am a HUGE Farside fan, and actually used to be good friends with the whole band. I recently had a chance to catch up with Popeye at a Big Drill Car reunion show in H.B. in August. Other notables at this event were Jeff & Todd from Gameface, Jordan Cooper from Revelation records, Even Jacobs from ICE a side project with Popeye, and Noodels & Dexter Holland from Offspring. Well their first 2 albums are great melodic punk(call it emo or whatever) third is more like mix of few genres but it`s still enjoyable.
