Blog

The term Alternative Metal is used as a very loose categorization, but is usually used to describe artists playing a style of rock music which is considered a unique approach to Grunge music, but still play heavy metal. Many bands categorized as "alternative metal" are equally influenced by alternative rock and heavy metal.

Heavy metal is not an essential component of the music, but it was very different from the thrash underground of the 1980s. Initially alternative metal appealed mainly to alternative rock fans since virtually all 80s alt-metal bands had their roots in the American Rock underground scene.

Alt-metal bands commonly emerged from hardcore punk (Corrosion of Conformity), post-punk/noise rock such as Big Black[/artists], Fugazi and Sonic Youth along with others such as Helmet and White Zombie, grunge (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden), industrial (Ministry, Vardis, Nine Inch Nails). These bands never formed a distinct movement or scene; rather they were bound by their incorporation of traditional metal influences and openness to experimenting with the form, usually by way of their eclectic influences and uncommon approaches.

For example, Jane's Addiction utilized performance art and a bohemian aesthetic, Corrosion of Conformity, The Melvins and the now defunct grunge band Soundgarden had a fondness for subverting '70s metal, and Faith No More, along with Living Colour, injected funk and hip hop into their brand of alternative metal,[2] while Primus incorporates an obscure Residents-esque touch in their form of the genre.

Dazu musstet ihr nur eure 14 favorsierten deutschen Metal-Bands posten. Egal ob sie Englisch oder Deutsch singen Hauptsache es ist eine Punk-Band und sie kommt aus Deutschland.
Nebenbei wurde noch die Besetzung der 2 Nachbarligen entschieden, das heißt ihr konntet für eure liebsten deutschen Rockbands in dem entsprechenden Blog voten. (jede Rockband muss "irgendwo" reinpassen! Entweder Punk-Rock-Liga, Metal-Liga oder Standard-Rock-Liga )

Пн 3 Ноя – Tarja Turunen, Tarja

3 ноября 2008 года в Киеве прогремел очередной успешный концерт. На этот раз для поклонников симфонического метала. Бывшая вокалистка финской группы Nightwish, Тарья Турунен впервые посетила Киев и Украину вцелом, а тем самым обогнала своих бывших коллег из Nightwish. Организаторами концерта выступило агенство Global Promotion, а место проведения - НАУ. За несколько часов до начала концерта начала формироваться толпа перед входом, который был предусмотрительно разделен на три двери для каждой из трех зон. Я ожидал увидеть огромную кучу готов и металхедов, но они все терялись в общей “цивильненькой” массе народа. Наверное здесь сыграл фактор большой популярности группы Nightwish, надпись на афише “вперше в Україні легендарний голос” и сама “снежная королева” на афише.

В холе можно было купить себе фирменный мерч Tarja Turunen- футболки, CD/DVD диски (правда лицензия определенно отечественная), плакаты концерта, магнитики и другое.

По заполненности зала можно было судить, что все билеты раскуплены, а в фан-зоне места только стоячие и от сцены до пульта всё пространство плотно заполнено фанами. Огорчил тот факт, что в пресс-зоне находиться нельзя было, но в данном случае отношусь с пониманием, так как там почти не развернуться, а в случае чего лишний головняк охране.

В концертном турне по Европе Тарье помогают следующие известные музыканты:

Ударные - Майк Террана (Masterplan, Savage Circus, ex-Rage, ex-Malmsteen)
Клавиши - Марья Илмониеми
Басс - Оливер Хольцварт (Blind Guardian, ex-Sieges Even)
Гитара - Алукс Шолпп (ex-Farmer Boys)
Виолончель - Макс Лилья (Hevein, ex-Apocalyptica)

Перед Тарьей планировалось выступление саппорта из России - готик рок группа Dark Princess. Но саппорта мы так и не увидели, а как потом выяснилось они отказались незадолго до концерта. Возможно, что так даже и лучше для вызвучки хедлайнера.

Ближе к 20 часам потух в зале свет, начали пускать дым и полились звуки клавишных. На сцене можно было наблюдать белый занавес, за которым скрывались музыканты и уже начавшая петь Тарья. Через минуту, под взрыв ударных и гитар, тонкий и нежный белый занавес был эффектно сброшен, ну а зал встретил гостей из Финляндии бурными овациями. Сразу врезалась в слух отличная вызвучка ударных - бас-бочка так и затягивала своей жирностью саунда, а сам ударник Майк Террано располагался на небольшом постаменте справа на сцене, а на привычном месте ударных была виолончель.

Виолончель добавляла сочности звуку, а также играла ключевую роль в акустических произведениях, тем самым поддерживая марку стиля sympho metal. Вызвучка в итоге оказалась очень хорошая - даже если стоять в двух метрах от колонок, то практически отсутствие перегруза и равномерное звучание каждого из инструментов. Можно было заметить, что по началу активной была правая сторона фан-зоны от сцены, но уже к середине концерта разрыв был всюду, так как Тарья не оставляла без внимания ни одну точку зала, и в том числе балкон, периодически улыбаясь и помахивая ручкой. Отдельного внимания заслуживает образ Тарьи - он то и дело меняется на протяжении всего концерта. Финская звезда давно была известна своей страстью к смене имиджа во время выступления. В Киеве она порядка 5 раз переодевалась в разные платья, а отличная подсветка помогала поддержать образ.

После нескольких первых песен Тарья представила своих коллег публике, и все они были встречены бурными апплодисментами, ну а больше всех припало на душу Майку Террано. Чуть позже Майк подтвердил свой статус известного ударника отличным драм-соло. Её музыканты казались такими простыми и обычными людьми, и это очень приятно грело душу.

Ярче всего фаны воспринимали давно известные хиты Passion and the Opera, nemo. Насладиться в полной мере голосом Тарьи можно было во время исполнения сразу трех объедененных между собой песен, где аккомпанировали клавиши и виолончель - Minor Heaven - The Reign - Oasis. Зал замер и просто наслаждался искренней музыкой. Особенный момент щастья настал, когда в теме Oasis Тарья села за клавишные и пела одновременно.

Публика с каждой песней хотела еще больше музыки, еще больше мастерства примадонны. Каждая песня сопровождалась бурными овациями, ну а апогеем стал кавер на Элиса Купера - Poison.

Энергетика зала, казалось, пришла к максимуму, и промелькнула мысль, что за такой успешной песней могут идти только хиты. Так и случилось - всем известная песня группы Nightwish - wishmaster. Для почти всех пришедших именно эта песня была ключевой - для кого-то очень приятным сюрпризом, но для большинства - целью.

Вконце концов, всё когда либо заканчивается, и даже концерт гениальной Тарьи под удачно подобранную акустическую тему Calling Grace. Темный занавес на сцене предстал в сотнях ярких лампочек, напоминающих нам о звездном небе. Честно говоря, сдерживать эмоции было тяжело - эта песня почти довела до слёз меня и наверное многих других.

Тарья часто благодарила публику, а один раз даже произнесла на русском “большое спасибо”. Также приятно на слух лягла фраза в переводе с английского, заимствованная с названия альбома певицы, - “Вы - мой зимний шторм!”. Публика долго не хотела отпускать Тарью Турунен, о чем говорит одно только феерическое прощание на сцене…Всё же Тарья пообещала нам вскоре вернуться!

Мне остается отметить, что это определённо был один из лучших концертов в году по всем критериям, а также публика выдалась на диво отменная. Ну а я буду мечтать еще когда-нибудь увидеть Тарью, и может даже мне повезет услышать в её исполнении Ave Maria.

Well, after several months of work, I am glad to reopen my website GermanMetal.com, under a new structure: a Wiki!

Some years ago, around 2002, I opened GermanMetal.com as a resource for international Rammstein fans to broaden their horizons and discover all the other great German bands! It was actually quite successful, but built in such a way that I had to do everything, and since the project was very ambitious, it needed more time than I could give, and died slowly. I tried many times to find ways to re-make it, but to no avail.

However, with the flexible platform a Wiki offers, I have now been able to build a structure in which other users can help and contribute building this huge project. Feel free to browse around the Wiki. It is far from very complete, but it should grow within the next months greatly, and more sections should be added to the 3 existing ones.

If you would like to contribute, we need helpers, so feel free to consult the Help and About pages and see how you can help - maybe you can become the artisan of your favourite artist's section!
