Just downloaded The Séance at random and liked it enough to write a little about it, I'll be looking out to buy it. Finnish band on I Hate records. Excellent traditional doom with a side of groovy sludge, interesting vocals and hints of melodic guitar. These things give it an extra dimension over the the usual bleakness you'd expect. The vocals have a Jim Morrison soulfullness, and they list The Doors as an influence. Track 3 'at the birth of the human shadow' is reminding me a little of Rev Bizarre and track 4 'My Home The Gallows' has a Type-O gothic crawl. Highly recommended.

Copypasta from their homepage: "While at the moment we're still working in a studio on a bunch of new tracks which will see the light of day in some form or another next year we've already started to compose material for our third full-length which carries the working title Vanitas - cheerful title, isn't it? The new material is in traditional Fall of the Idols vein, only a bit more diverse - natural succession for The Womb of the Earth and The Séance. And it's H-E-A-V-Y. Perhaps one could sense even some hints of good ol' NWOBHM in there... We hope to record the new album on the latter part of the year 2009 aiming for early 2010 release so don't hold your breath for that one. But like I said, something else is in the works!"
