Elan Atias is an American Jewish reggae singer. Atias performed with The Wailers, which had been the backing band for Bob Marley, from 1997 to 1999. In June 2006, he released his debut album, Together as One, produced by No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal. On August 22, 2006, Abbywho, Inc. and Elan Sara DeFan filed a lawsuit against Interscope and Atias over copyright infringement of the trademark name “Elan”. Elan recently reunited with The Wailers as the lead singer and is touring the world singing the Wailers’ classics as well as songs from his Together As One album. In addition, Elan and Aston “Familyman” Barrett are forming a joint venture with the intent to produce future albums and to sign emerging artists under their label. The first project will be a new compilation with the Wailers’ featuring some of the biggest names in contemporary music. Atias’ newest project has him singing lead vocals for Zadik, a reggae band than incorporates traditional Jewish prayers.
