Within this month of June, theme-wise we had a tie in the monthly mixtape group. With two very very awesome themes:

1. How did you get into 29?
The Hives: I first heard Hate To Say I Told You So just around the release of Your New Favourite Band and totally loved it. That song holds a lot of memories of a certain time in my life for me, so I still love it now, even if it did get overplayed.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Deerhoof: I think it was Panda Panda Panda, however the first song I heard that made me take notice would have been The Perfect Me.

3. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Enon: 3. High Society, Hocus Pocus, Grass Geysers & Carbon Clouds.

4. What is your favorite song by 15?
Klaxons: Difficult one! Maybe Totem On The Timeline... or Hall Of Records... or one of the others depending on which day it is.

5. What is your favorite song by 5?
HALCALI: Difficult again, but today I’m gonna say Marching March.

Devo: Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA makes me happy every time.

The $hit: Errr… this is my band, so that’s a bit weird maybe. Probably one of the new songs that aren’t finished yet! Of the stuff that’s released, I guess it would be The Idiots are Winning.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?: Seeing them play live and the whole crowd shouting the “YEAH!!” bits in We Are Rockstars.

Hi-Posi: Jenny Wa Gokigen Naname off the Seizen Setsu album.

10. How many times have you seen 25 live?
Macdonald Duck Eclair: Never – To my knowledge they have never played in the UK.

Girls Aloud: The same one as anyone from the UK - Sound of the Underground of course!!

múm: This is one of my the artists my girlfriend plays, so I don’t really know. I think her favourite is Finally We Are No One.

Björk: Again, one of my girlfriend’s artists. I’d say her favourite member of Björk would be, um, Björk.

Late of the Pier: Yes, and I’ll be seeing them for the third time later this month!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Singing Maps in the style of my girlfriend’s mom.

Justice: Either Phantom Pt. II or Waters of Nazareth.

Bat for Lashes: Another of my girlfriends top artists. I think her favourite is What’s A Girl To Do. That’s the one I hear her play the most anyway.

Mr Oizo, SebastiAn & Sebastien Tellier: Skatesteak.

19. What is the first song you ever heard by 26?
EeL: If it’s Fake on one of the Contemode compilations. Still my favourite song by her, and better than the slowed-down album version.

Polysics: It has to be Now is the Time – the original Japanese release version. Why they had to shuffle the tracklisting on the UK/US versions, god only knows. The Japanese version is perfect!

Plus-Tech Squeeze Box: Again, too many but today I’ll say The Martin Show.

22. What is you favorite song by 8?
The Arcade Fire: Another of my girlfriend’s top artists, I’m not quite sure what her favourite is. I don’t mind a few of their songs, my personal favourite would probably be the Neon Bible version of No Cars Go.

23. How many times have you seen 17 live?
Chrome Hoof: Never – I’m desperate to see their live show though – hopefully they’ll tour next year.

24. What is the worst song by 12?
Amiina: Another one of my girlfriends artists. I wouldn’t know which are their worst songs, but I find Sogg and Blaskjar annoying because of the amount of times I’ve heard them, and they aren’t really my cup of music.

25. What was the first song you ever heard by 28?
Public Enemy: I’m not sure… that was so long ago! My brother bought a Japanese import of their Singles and Remixes album in about 1992 and, to my knowledge, that was the first time I heard them, so it would have been something off that, one of their hits.

26. What is you favorite album by 7?
CocoRosie: This artist is one my girlfriend listens to mostly, though I like some of their stuff. I think her – and my - favourite album would be The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn.

27. What is your favorite song by 24?
Hazel Nuts Chocolate: Jenny’s Discothequa.

28. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
The Go! Team: Most of their songs, though the main one would be Huddle Formation. It makes me cry tears of joy!!

Cansei de Ser Sexy: The 2005 Brazilian release of Cansei De Ser Sexy, before they changed to CSS, re-recorded most of the songs (badly) for Sub Pop and went totally crap. The original versions of those songs are sooooo much better it’s ridiculous.

Ratatat: 2. Classics and LP3.
