Biografia

Dub War eram uma banda de metal de quatro peças de Newport, South Wales, Reino Unido. Formada em 1993, a banda ofereceu uma combinação inovadora de metal, punk, ragga e influenciados por bandas como The Clash e Bad Brains. Suas letras foram pensadas e idealista, atraindo comparações com a antiga, apesar de musicalmente eles estavam mais próximos ao som hard rock da segunda.

Eles lançaram dois álbuns, através dos metais Earache Records rótulo, Pain, lançado em 1995 and Wrong Side of Beautiful in 1996. Dub War divididos em 1999 disputas afer com sua gravadora. Depois de um curto período com a Missa supergrupo Mental, o vocalista Benji Webbe passou a formar Skindred com Jeff Rose e Martyn Ford, embora este último saiu mais cedo em citando maus tratos de seu selo.

    its a real shame most people more than likely will just remember this for the vocals of benji, but there is so much going on with the guitars and bass too, probably gets overlooked

    Shame these guys broke up and nothing much came of Mass Mental? after their one studio album and one live album which only saw release in Japan.

    Dub War seem to me like a fusion of reggae, punk, nu metal and grunge imo, not particularly heavy metal.

    Just an alert/reminder to those who weren't aware, that Earache Records have just released a Dub War compilation entitled The Dub, The War & The Ugly (http://www.last.fm/music/dub+war/the+dub%2C+the+war%2B%2526%2Bthe+ugly) featuring unreleased demos for the lost third album, a live concert and all their music videos. Be sure to check it out!

Formed in 2007, since then the band have toured the UK with their debut album ” The Age Of Paranoia” The album gained critical acclaim with outstanding reviews, and also won the Playmusic UK best unsigned metal act of 2009.
