Lançado em 1977, após o relativo fracasso do álbum No Reason to Cry, Slowhand pode ser considerado uma das melhores obras do "Deus" Clapton (título atribuído por uma mensagem gravada nas paredes de um metrô na Inglaterra com o dizer: "Clapton is God"). Seus três principais sucesso são: Cocaine, Wonderful Tonight e Lay Down Sally, que levaram a produção à 325ª posição, segundo e revista Rolling Stone, entre os "500 melhores álbuns de todos os tempos", o que eu considero, no mínimo, merecido.
A formação da banda de Clapton, sempre inconstante, nesse álbum teve: Marcy Levy e Yvonne Elliman nos vocais, Carl Radle no baixo, Mel Collins no sax, George Terry na guitarra, Jamie Oldaker na bateria e Dick Sims nos teclados, todos com experiências com outras grandes bandas e artistas como Dire Straits e J. J. Cale. Além do gênio, é claro.
Curiosidade: Clapton é o único artista incluso no Hall da Fama do Rock três vezes, sendo uma delas pelo Yardbirds, outra pelo Cream e mais uma por perfomances solo. Muitos o consideram o maior guitarrista de todos os tempos, principalmente pela emoção que ele passa ao bom ouvinte quando toca.

Enjoyable album with famous Smells Like Teen Spirit. But there are other very good tracks on it like In Bloom. Worth listening to.


Hanoi Rocks - Oriental Beat
Maybe slightly better than their previous one but it's still weak. Nothing interesting or catchy. I didn't like it.


Short Cross - Arising
Thanks to Mr. Wojciech Mann I discovered this guys and I'm very glad I did. They recorded a solid piece of rock. Unfortunately it's their only album. It's a shame they didn't gained any attention.


Dead by Sunrise - Out Of Ashes
I was waiting for a long time for this one. I like it though I've expected it to be better. Still, it's very good and songs like Fire, Crawl Back In and Let Down are amazing. Chester's vocal has always been my favorite.

I was surprised. From what I remembered I didn't like their first one too much but I really enjoyed ELO 2. Especially anti-war song Kuiama. I must listen to their previous album one more time cause I think I missed something then.
