This list has been crowding up my profile for the past few months, so I guess it's time to retire it into Journal form, now. And I added a few, for good measure.John Grant
- Queen Of Denmark
- Folk-Rock with a little bit of synth thrown in. Brilliant metaphorical lyricism, and phenomenal piano playing and singing. Needs to be heard by all, far and wide. More than makes up for Midlake's disappointing 2010 release (I said disappointing, not bad). Can't recommend it enough.Fionn Regan
- The Shadow Of An Empire
- Another folk-rock album, but this one is more rock than folk. Fionn's traded his acoustic in for an electric for his second LP, and it sounds damn good.Menomena
- Experimental Rock with lots of piano and occasionally some saxophone. Menomena's 3rd (or 4th if you want to get technical) LP. With it comes the sound of a band that is on the edge of falling apart. A bit more melancholy than their other albums, but I think that's what I like about it.
