Well, that was a boring year... at least looking at the changes in top 50. Everything was very static. The hottest climber of the year was Dernière Volonté by 60 positions straight to #46 outside of the 4th anniversary Top 100. Also Foetus and Ulver entered Top 50 for the first time. Cabaret Voltaire and Der Blutharsch returned after being absent from Top 50 for a while. The biggest mover that was in Top 50 last year was The Doors, up by 11 positions.

The static nature of my Top 50 is easy to explain because my listening habits have changed if the chart hasn't. I listen to a bigger amount of artists but a smaller amount of songs per artist. My overall listening amounts have stayed pretty much the same but now they are more divided between more bands. The same has happened to tracks a lot earlier: I rarely listen to a single track for a lot of times. This means that both my tracks and artist Top 50 charts aren't changing that much these days.

The overall charts are so static that sometimes I even think about resetting the statistics. But that would be a waste because I can set my default layout to show the stats for last 12 months which I think also represents my current taste in music a lot better. It's becoming more and more diverse each year, concentrating less and less on repetition of individual tracks or artists. It's also becoming less focused on ebm, futurepop and related genres, as you may even notice from the slight changes in positions of my top 50 artists.

Sun 18 Oct – Into Darkness
I became totally devastated when I heard that The Birthday Massacre was not coming since I bought the not at all cheap ticket just to see them play live cause I really wanted to see how they create that unique sound of theirs... Oh, well... Actually, it was a very pleasant surprise. Drugzone the Hungarian band was, compared to the majority of Hungarian bands, quite OK though nothing special - I would have left out the constant head "knocking" from the bassist's and the wannabe sexy look from the vocalist's part.
The others were of the same quality... What I heard from Dope Stars Inc. is that they were playing typical amusement park music - not the traditional, nostalgic one but the modern, disco-type one, so they were good for background music. The group which substituted Birthday Massacre was much better than the previous ones and than the upcoming one - Diary of Dreams. I'm aware that in Germany they are something completely God-like; here, however, they were only some Rammstein mocking group with one everlasting song. I really don't want to hurt the feelings of those who are die-hard fans but to me they were nothing special just a broom-headed egg and a viking with a guitar which can be used only for the first song, after that the batteries probably die.
And now comes the evening's awaited attraction - Deathstars. I've never heard of them, I only knew that the kind of look like Manson with all the make up. And the whole pleasant surprise part of the concert came then since they were absolutely amazing. They played such an aggressive metal music (they promoted their new album, Night Electric Night) that I couldn't wipe off my smile - the guitars played the leading role and I think that's the reason why the songs sound less energetic when I now listen to them on my computer. So, I can only say that they were a WOW on the concert. And Skinny was...<3

The verdict - I still crave for a Birthday Massacre concert and I want to see Deathstars again and again.
