I dislike the current state of my top 50. Very much so :)
I suppose I should make out some plan of action. This plan might be a disgrace to the English language at some points. It's around 4 AM and this week hasn't been one for sleep.
Things to get the heck off of my tops:
1.
disney. How I've managed to listen to it enough times (though it's only about 50 plays) is way beyond me (I only have one Disney track and stream others on occasion...though those occasions aren't all that frequent...)
2.
Panic! At the Disco. Sure, I've liked them once upon a two months ago, but they're stuff's really gotten somewhat boring. I blame this on getting Fall Out Boy, though.
3.
Fall Out Boy. Fun, sometimes. Better than Panic!, but in the long run, no.
4.
YUKI KAJIURA,
Yoko Shimomura,
Utada Hikaru, etc. Yoko and Yuki's stuff are pretty okay. Utada, definitely not. Again, the OST's are good on occasion; I'm starting to listen to them less and less now.
5.
D.H.T.,
Cascada. Just because. I don't play these tracks for me, but for my rommate ]:
6.
Green Day. I'll be honest, the only album of theirs I like anymore is
American Idiot (I don't have
Dookie. Removing this band from the list would be quite appalling to some, for reasons that will be stated down the line.
7.
Linkin Park. Let's face it, I only listen to them when one of their tracks comes up on the library shuffle.
8.
Evanescence. Don't know exactly why, but I'm starting to like the band less and less now. The tracks I used to love hold no appeal to me whatsoever.
9.
Goo Goo Dolls. I only have one of their tracks in my library. The rest vanished out of thin air. Seriously. If I get them back...well, I still wouldn't want them on my top 50...
10.
Slipknot. See 7
11.
Keane. I'll edit the reasoning later...tired...
12.
The All-American Rejects
13.
Andrew Lloyd Webber
14.
Bright Eyes
15.
Cake
16.
Daft Punk
17.
Say Anything
18.
3 Doors Down
19.
James Blunt
20.
Britney Spears. My contribution to the dance parties on our hall. Her, and D.H.T. and Cascadaa.
Artists who are most definitely staying on the top 50
1.
Muse. Favorite band, and that's enough reason.
2.
My Chemical Romance. In about ten-ish days, MCR has gone from a band that I really didn't care much for (didn't like I'm Not Okay [I Promise] at all. Still don't fancy the song) to a band that a lot of times I can't stop listening to for the life of me. It isn't a guilty pleasure thing like FOB or the AAR. I honestly do like the music/vocals (minus I'm Not Okay), the lyrics don't have me asking "why the hell do I like them again?", and I like the Peter Pan complex going on with the band members. The negativity towards the band makes me like them more. Mmhm, I think the only downside to the band is the audience they generally attract (i.e.: teeny hot topic-brand goths, emo scene kids, kids who think they're vampires, and [oh, god, this really pisses me off] kids who write "fan"fiction about the band), which is admittedly a direct result of the boyish aspects of their personality that I admire a lot. Hmm. I think I could go on about this, but due to the fact that I'm tired (which would end up having me throw out random rants that make no sense whatsoeve) and I'm steering away from the main purpose of this entry I'll end this here.
3.
Radiohead. The band's starting to grow on me more and more. My like of Coldplay evolving, perhaps?
4.
Bomb the Music Industry!. A new favorite as well. There isn't a track of theirs that I have that I don't like, though listening to them right now is limited as I need headphones and my roommates aren't too keen on them. The joy of attending Christian university.
5.
Leftover Crack. See above.
6, 7.
Bob Dylan and
Led Zeppelin. Tastes inherited from my family. Genious and genious. Legend and legend. This is my opinion, whether it be inherited or not.
8.
Oasis. This band, I want to get to know more of, want to get more of, want to listen to more of.
9.
The Delegates. See above. Fell in love with their sound :D
10, 11.
belladonnakillz and
Deavid Soul I promised myself I'd pick them back up again but I never get around to it.
12, 13.
The Arrogant Sons of Bitches and
Fleshies. See Bomb the Music Industry!.
Artists I really want on my top 50
(Yeah, I snoozed off there for a bit)
Norma Jean
mewithoutYou
Mae
The Fall of Troy
Blur, where the heck did you go?
Flogging Molly. you, too.
I don't know if that's 50.
But I'm tired.
And I have an outline to write.
