Today I downloaded
Winamp (see
DJ Mike Llama) again. Mostly because Windows Media Player was beginning to annoy me due to its slow song startup when I chose songs, as well as the fact that it took up space on the taskbar.
Winamp docks to the top of the screen and takes up no space at all. It also has EQ editing and great visualisations. It's really swoosh!
And, no, I'll never even consider swapping to iTunes. :P No iPod, don't buy song from their music store, don't like DRM, don't have an Apple computer.
Also, check out these
Last.fm badges! They rock! They're automatically generated based upon your user information. I have one to the left on my user description.

New discoveries:
Okay, time to show off my weird tastes. :D
Ella Fitzgerald: My new favourite artist, she's a jazz singer from the 1940s. Her rendition of
Summertime is incredible!
ガゼット: A Japanese rock band. I'm addicted to their song,
SILLY GOD DISCO. I guess it appeals to my power-pop tastes.
Dexter Freebish: I'd only heard three of their songs, but I found a fourth one I love. It's their best song, in my opinion. Check out
Pretty People (LP Version).
長沼英樹: A Japanese game soundtrack composer. I liked his stuff from Sonic Rush, but I adore his stuff from Jet Set Radio Future.
Funky Dealer is one of the best songs I've ever heard! Really creative and enjoyable.
Sanxion7: An indie club composer. Dance music isn't really for everyone (just me and a friend), but you can always give it a try. You can download his songs from his
SoundClick page. I recommend
Gargoyle (Original Mix).
DJ Tiësto: A well-known club composer who does some really awesome club songs! Introduced to me by a club-lovin' friend. Try
Lethal Industry on for size.
