    "Hi to all,

First of all thank you for all the patience you had in these last times despite the lack of news regarding the band.

We wanted to inform you that we are in the middle of a hard legal fight with MCM and his main representative Mr. Joey De Maio.

That's the reason why in the last months we had to keep all strictly confidential and could not release any official declaration that could obviously be used against us from the opposite side. And that's also the reason why we were constricted to stop completely our band's activity. Frankly we are not able to imagine if all this can end in a very close future but we want to assure you that we are ready to fight with all the strength of body and soul in order to protect yours and our beloved band. Yes, aside from these bad events we ask you to not lose your faith in us. As soon as this sad situation will be solved we'll be ready for a great and mighty come back. A new album, a real masterpiece of speed/epic metal, is already composed and ready to be recorded and after its release an immense worldwide tour will finally follow for yours and our extreme satisfaction.

    Stay tuned!

Same kind of BS is happening with Guns N' Roses and some others I can't think of right now (if you know of any please enlighten me). Keep me from getting my music and I might get angry. You won't like me when I'm angry.

  • Downloading music HELPS the music industry??????

    Jun 22 2008, 4h29 por hurricane_mario

Going to keep this short and simple, so even you idiots can understand.
This is an opinion so you're welcome to counterpoint.

    1. Downloading music without paying for it allows you to have many many times more music than you could possibly ever afford to pay for.

    2. Consequentially, you are bound to share the music you think is best with friends, random internet users, or use last.fm to find similar artists.

    3. Therefore, many many more people find out about the artist than they would otherwise, and also find out about similar artists.

    4. The people who aren't complete douchebags (and there are more than you'd think) buy the music that they feel the artists deserve their money.

  • ♪ ♪ ♪ The top six Angra albums. ♪ ♪ ♪

    Mai 4 2008, 6h53 por hurricane_mario

In celebration of http://www.angra.net/ being down, (jk I'm on the floor crying), I am listing the 6 Angra albums in order. This is fact, there is no disputing it.

    1) Fireworks
Every song on this album is atmospheric, emotional, heartfelt, amazing, and there is nothing else like it in the world. Paradise is quite possibly the epicest song in existance. Not the best, but epicest. TocarRainy Nights is perfect. I challenge you to find a weak song on this album. Before you start- That's right. You can't.

    2) Aurora Consurgens
Every song on this album is fantastic as well, although there are a few places they went wrong, such as the beginning of TocarThe Course of Nature should have been a separate track, and Edu sounds like he has laryngitis on this album for some reason. I wish he'd just sing clean all the time, he can do it, he just chooses not to. Tracks 1-5 are all just orgasmic, then it falls off a bit where the only other stand-out track is TocarScream your Heart Out. TocarBreaking Ties is one of the best ballads I've ever heard. I also appreciate the fact that this album is a bit more progressive than most of their others.

    3) Rebirth
Almost every song is a winner on this album, too. TocarHeroes of Sand is an amazing ballad, Unholy Wars is unbelievably epic, and it falls off a bit after that but the songs are still great, though not as memorable. I kind of played them out a year ago before I discovered last.fm's similar artists feature, therefore I'm basing this journal on year old memory. TocarRunning Alone is simple but great.

    4) Temple of Shadows
I honestly don't understand why everyone is "OMGROFLAMAZINGHANSIKURSHMAO" about this. It's fairly generic power metal, while it's easy to catch onto it gets old because of this. It was my favorite at first until I found songs like Carry On, Wings of Reality, Carolina IV, Nova Era, Unholy Wars, Heroes of Sand, etc. Honestly, the only superb songs on there are Spread Your Fire, Winds of Destination (not because of Hansi), Wishing Well, and Gate XIII is a fantastic finale. But the rest are rather meh in my opinion. as i said.

    5) Holy Land
Nothing to Say and Carolina IV are fantastic, but other than that, ehhh. Even the finale, Deep Blue and Lullaby for Lucifer are uninspired and dull. Overall I'd say most of the songs take too long to get to the point (such as Holy Land), or do not have one.

    6) Angels Cry
This was tough to place, but as with Rhapsody's first album, it is the weakest overall. Songs lack the energy found on later albums. The best song is Carry On, followed by Angels Cry, but the rest are a tad lame honestly. This album would be #5 if TocarQueen of the Night and Reaching Horizons were on it, but they were for some reason cut for worse songs. Reaching Horizons just soars. Painkiller should have been on there too :D

Heh, this made me remember why they are my favorite artist. *drool*

  • HOW TO GET YOUR WEEKLY TOP ARTISTS ON TIME!!! It's actually quite simple...

    Mar 31 2008, 2h02 por hurricane_mario

    1) Click here, and enter in your equivalent date and time to Sunday at 12:00:00 GMT (For example, Eastern Standard time for today would be "March 30 2008 8:0:0"), save the output somewhere.

    2) Do the same for exactly one week before that time ("March 23 2008 8:0:0")

    3) Open the following in a new tab or window:

    http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/1.0/user/hurricane_mario/weeklyartistchart.xml?from=1206273600&to=1206878400

    And replace:
    -"hurricane_mario" with your user name
-The "from" number with the number found in "2)"
-The "to" number with the number found in "1)"

If you want weekly top tracks or albums, replace "artist" with "track" or "album"

    ---------------------------------------------
    That's it!

How does this work? The raw XML data is gathered through the week, and the data is finalized at about 16:00:00 GMT Sunday (It varies, but it is much sooner than the graphical chart on each user page). Then, the next two days are spent converting this into a graphical format for each and every one of the 100 million or however many users on last.fm. But why not get it right when it's available? :P

Feel free to copy this journal entry and spread the word!

(Credit goes to Fulvian and others that first figured this out.)

    ---------------------------------------------
Side-note: Seems many people don't know how to ghost link, so I'll put that here too. Type:

    (url=(artist)Angra(/artist)(artist)Metallica(/artist))(/url)

but use [ brackets instead. And put as many artists (or tags or songs) as you want in there! :)

Update 6/23: Use c_o_l_o_r or a_l_i_g_n intestead of u_r_l (without underscores, maybe im paranoid but they disabled url ghostlinks soon after i wrote this. Thanks goes to Fulvian yet again. At least I figured out the original method myself :/ )

  • One year with last.fm!

    Mar 24 2008, 20h56 por hurricane_mario

The thing i've noticed most in the past month is the large influx of n00bs. That's good though, people are finally starting to realize the value of this site.

When I first got this account, my taste was incredibly limited. Basically, my top 10, minus DJ Mystik and Mr Big was all I listened to last March-April. But then I found the 'similar artists' on the side of every page. Through that, recommendations from friends and people I don't know, and randomly finding some stuff (For example, finding Crystal Viper while searching for Viper, or Sofa Surfers being the first thing to come up on "ambient tag radio" while I was trying to prove to someone that ambient music isn't actually music, which it isn't. Ambient is exactly what the name says, it's ambient noises, no different than listening to the natural noises outside. But I will admit it's nice for a change, I listened to Project Divinity just a few days ago. Anyway, Sofa Surfers is not ambient and whoever tagged it as such is an idiot... but thanks, because that's how i found it. :D )

I've also noticed that last.fm gathers your itunes data when you sign up now. I'm actuall kind of glad it didn't have that feature when I signed up, or my charts would seem even MORE limited.

And another thing, this window is so horribly slpow when you tag more than 50 artists. Must it check every 3 seconds if I added new connections? oh well.

  • BAD TAGGING YOU F*CKING IDIOTS, HOW HARD IS IT TO NOT CHANGE THE FILE PROPERTIES?

    Fev 21 2008, 14h51 por hurricane_mario

I got a rar file that only half downloaded from a blog I will not mention. The track names were the URL of the blog and nothing else, there was no track number or album or artist. To do something like this, you actually have to GO INTO the track information, delete all the data, and changed the track names to your blog. Then, because that's not enough, create a RAR file, make ABSOLUTELY SURE that it's corrupted and will never download correctly, then upload it to [spam] F*CK YOU. Here is my tribute to you, YOU F*CKING IDIOTS:

  • My Top 50 Artists - How I got into them, random comments, whatever

    Jan 11 2008, 10h40 por hurricane_mario

I'm up at 4:30 after lying in bed for over 2 hours with no luck. Anxious for school to start already. BAH! Anyways:

Angra Found these guys back when I used to have the "ministore" in iTunes, back before I had last.fm. The most talented Progressive Power Metal band out there, in my opinion. Oh, and NO ONE CARES WHICH SINGER IS "BETTER", it's like comparing an apple and an orange. New album probably 2009, looking forward to it.

, Kamelot Friend recommended them... I got addicted to Epica, I listened to the other albums, including Ghost Opera and none are as good. Epica just flows perfectly from song to song and is always fun to listen to. Haven't been listening at all lately but it's always good to go back to.

, Mägo de Oz Spanish Cheese Metal! Found them out about the same time as Kamelot... started with one album, and grew to every song they ever made. La Ciudad de Los Arboles is a perfect folk metal/ folk rock album. Just wish I was fluent in spanish. :-/

, Black Sabbath Classic. 'Nuff said. But I'll say more. Most of what I've listened to is the first 2 or 3 albums by Ozzy and the three by Dio- Dehumanizer, Heaven And Hell, Mob Rules. Went to see him TWICE last year because I love them so much. Looking forward to the likely new album this year. According to Dio they could crank out an album in 2 weeks (he says so somewhere in the bonus features of the live at Radio City DVD, yes i own it and watched every second of it)

, DJ Mystik The best trance artist, He could be the only trance artist. He put out 34 mixes in like 3 years to get him through school and they're all amazing. Never gets old.

, Metallica There was a program called "Manditory Metallica" on my favorite radio station (there still is), I stayed up every night to listen even though 11pm was late, lol its 4:46am right now. Best album is ...And Justice for All but I love them all. Yes, Including St. Anger. Every song is catchy and well-composed, even if it was cut and pasted together. New album comes out May (???????) 2008 (9? 10???) and it's supposedly styled as a mix of And Justice for all and The black album = 1989 which was their peak IMO.

, Freedom Call Found out about them by chance, The songs are so happy and awesome.

, Mr. Big The best straight Rock Band. Admittedly 2/3 of these plays are from their last album, my favorite album, Actual Size. Billy Sheehan on bass. Hoping for a reunion, but for now Eric Martin will do. (See Below)
, Red Hot Chili Peppers A favorite since I heard their Californication stuff on the radio. I have every album, single, unreleased song they ever made and it's all awesome.

, Arch Enemy If you're going to listen to one Melodic Death Metal band make it this. Amazing(ly hot) singer and perfect music.

, Emerson, Lake & Palmer Got into this from my parents XD. But I love them for the variety, theres no other band like them and every album is different. Reunion? Haha everyone hated their first reunion but I like the 90's albums as well, again, theres nothing like them.

, King Diamond Clerks 2. Watch it, then get addicted to King Diamond. It's just awesome, words cannot describe. Again there's nothing like it. Im PISSED cause he broke his back and the tour was cancelled. GET WELL SOON! (like now)

, Sonata Arctica Randomly saw it in a CD store and got addicted. Saw a concert last year and its the best one I ever went to. It's maybe the only power metal band with well-thought-out lyrics. And they definitely bent the definition of the genre with their latest album, Unia.

, Rush Classic Rock at it's finest. Got into it because it's my dad's probably #2 favorite behind the Who. Snakes and Arrows is amazing. Went to a concert with my dad which was amazing.

, Stratovarius I heard about them since they are similar to Sonata Arctica. But, not really. Every album is different and great in its own ways. Personally I think it is the "best" power metal band, there's something special no other band has. Go listen to it.

, Nightwish Found them on youtube while looking at Sonata Arctica videos :). Annette can't hit the high notes so well but composition-wise Dark Passion Play is the best to date.

, Helloween It's classic, I dunno how I heard of it just everyone should listen. The new album is some awesome power metal,, "The Saints" is my favorite song off it.

, Rhapsody My dad found this online or something so now I've heard every song by them.

, The Click Five Friend told me about them but i got addicted (look at my top track :P). Good rock/pop boy band. *Gasp I cant believe he put those words in the same sentence OMG*

, Bob Marley & The Wailers Perfect Reggae. Other artists have tried but none compare. Also did Ska spawn off Reggae? Ska is crap either way.

, Dethklok The embodiment of all that is metal. infinte \m/

, Blind Guardian Dont listen that much but it's good.

, Elvenking Great Folk Power Metal. The Scythe would be album of the year if more than 1000 people heard of it. /exaggeration but seriously they're underrated.

, Eternal Tears of Sorrow Meeeeelllloooooooooooodiiiiiiiiiicccccccccccc Death metal. Did I mention they're melodic? TocarRed Dawn Rising and TocarSinister Rain are just perfect.
, Iced Earth I do like the new album despite the fact the singer sucks. All the others are great too.

, Megadeth I used to hate them but, meh. I've been to a concert, craziest concert ever and I lost half my hearing but it was quite enjoyable.

, Alice Cooper Saw them live with Heaven and Hell tour (Black Sabbath) and got the discography when I got home :)

, Dark Tranquillity Another really melodic death metal band. Notice a trend? haha I love it. I think the piano in Fiction is really distinctive.

, Down Also with Heaven and Hell (the other time). They're just so damn heavy and Phil is amazing singer.

, Dio STAND UP AND SHOUT!

, Bee Gees Yeah so they had those 5 number one hits that but some other albums I enjoy too. Children of the World, High Civilization, Size Isn't everything, Spirits Having Flown, This Is Where I Came In (their last one :'( ), and of course One Night Only and Story (live and best of)

, Yngwie Malmsteen Some of it I don't like but the rest is really cool. Crucify is just amazing.

, Chumbawamba Yeah you think of Tubthumper. That song is SHIT compared to some of their other albums. Anarchy, WYSIWYG, Un are perfect. TocarGive The Anarchist A Cigarette is a great song no one has heard of, and so is every track on Un.

, Dschinghis Khan ytmnd.com! But I have heard it all and it's just fun to listen to.

, Scorpions ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE! The new album, Humanity Hour 1 is amazing.

, Dark Moor superpower metal? Yeah I just made that up but songs like "The Chariot" are just so powerful.

, Luca Turilli Rhapsody's Guitarist. Some of his stuff is actually better, I can't even name a song because they are all great. Latest two albums show a bit of a decline however, but are still great.

, The Beatles What can I say that hasnt been said? Haha

, Eric Martin Mr. Big's vocalist. He's one of my favorites as you can see on my left. His best song is Fly, youtube it. New album 2008 supposedly.

, Ozzy Osbourne His singing is unique but not all that "good". However, many of his songs are amazing. Shot in the dark, I'm Not Gonna stop, etc

, Primal Fear Glad this guy didn't join Judas Priest because he went on to create a band that's much better. Listen to the latest album.

, Xandria I only have two clean female singer bands in my top 50, wow. For good reason. This is amazing. My favorite song is TocarIndia

, Devin Townsend His music makes me have orgasms!

, Infectious Grooves Formed but the Suicidal Tendencies guy. It has Robert Trujullo (now in Metallica) and its so groovy and... infectious... haha. They have a lot of great ones but I like TocarDie Lika Pig

, Rammstein ytmnd.com again. Really great hard rock/heavy metal that I wish I could understand. Damn germans. Whens another album coming? /im lazy to look

, Avantasia A collaboration of like 3 million guys formed by Tobias Sammet, but you know that if you're reading this. New album comes 25th in case you don't know. Lost In Space EP is amazing, though the song sounds like a B-side to "Superheroes"

, Pain of Salvation Really good prog metal, one of my favorites.

, Aquaria THE power metal band you need to listen to if you haven't heard of it. Chances are you haven't.

, Astral Doors Nils Patrik Johannsen. I cant spell his name but click his pic on the left to go uh, wherever i linked it to.

, Labyrinth - 90% of these plays are from No Limits, the album with Fabio Lione of Rhapsody.

That's it folks. I'll try to get some rest now before I wake up in like 5 hours.

    I'm bored/procrastinating. Enjoy!

    20. Rhapsody - Cheesiest band ever? I also feel the name change was unnecessary and will ultimately hurt them.

    19. Dethklok - They're fictional.

    18. The Click Five - EMO HAIRCUTS!

    17. Helloween - Stupid lyrics.

    16. Nightwish - Anette is a pretty weak singer.

    15. Rush - Freaking 20 minute long songs... who honestly wants to listen to those?

    14. Stratovarius - They've changed way too much over the years, who knows what the next album will be like.

    13. Red Hot Chili Peppers - THEY SOLD OUT WITH Californication!

    12. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Is it so hard to think of a band name?

    11. Sonata Arctica - Freakin crazy accent that no one can understand and compositions tend to be too lyrics-heavy.

    10. King Diamond - Permanently high on Helium?

    9. Arch Enemy - Angela Gossow is hot, but at the same time, she scares the crap out of me.

    8. Mr. Big - Horrible name.

    7. Freedom Call - Could use some variance in the vocals.

    6. Metallica - Hetfield's voice isn't even that good, especially since he blew it out like 5 times.

    5. DJ Mystik - He's asian. XD Nah I kid. He has no original songs, all he did was remix crappy 90's hits.

    4. Black Sabbath - Why the hell couldn't they keep a line-up?

    3. Mägo de Oz - Why are they so damn happy all the time? (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N756_y0Vaps&feature=related )

    2. Kamelot - The songs have absolutely nothing to do with "Camelot".

    1. Angra - The fan base is completely split over what singer is better. Who the fuck cares? Get over it and enjoy the music.
