Their best by far. Less "technical" solo wankery, more real experimentation with sound. BTW, Groove > Thrash.

Don't really listen to much metal anymore, But I always find myself coming back to Coroner, especially Grin. It sums up everything I loved most about metal, fast and technical riffs, varied songs, slightly harsh but legible lyrics. Perfection.

People, this is NOT ONLY THRASH, is avant garde/progressive/technical Thrash metal and awesome album. Very underrated and misunderstood.

@ dburak: '93 is in general that year, where all the great progressive stuff came out and no one cared.

I agree - "Grin" is imho Coroner's best album. I love "Paralized, Mesmerized" and "Still Thinking".

I prefer the less-technical side of Coroner. This album is fuckin' twisted. And very good :) The solos in ''Paralized, Mesmerized'' - kick ass!

The first couple of times I listened to this it bored me to death, now I can't get enough of it. Take it on its own level and absorb the atmosphere and feeling.. it really is addictive and very emotional in places. It just doesn't express itself as immediately as the other albums do.

It's a good album, and it would've seen better days if it was released in 1998 rather than 1993. Before 1995 we didn't exactly tolerate great bands going lobster (read: experimental), did we? :)

I subscribe to the masterpiece opinion too :).And it is on so many levels...Guitar riffs, composition, incredible rhythm section and also lyrics (sometimes) .It has become my workout soundtrack for quite a long time btw :)...and beside that I can listen to it any time and never get bored- this is another incredible effect that Grin has on me."Chapeau" to Coroner!
