This one's pretty boring IMO. Still kind of brutal in some songs.

Aside from the vocals on Jane Doe being arguably more abrasive, I have always considered this to be Converge's least accessible album. Definately a contender for personal favourite. High Cost of Playing God, Love as Arson and Conduit are all crushing.

Are you kidding? New artwork is more Converge! The same with Petittioning.

My favorite album. And comparing it to Petitioning The Empty Sky is pretty hard. This one sounds more metallic, for the most part. Petitioning, however, it pure hardcore. But are stunning, but i'm gonna have to go with this. Petitioning being my second favorite, though.

Comparing the two side by side, the original release sounds fucking horrible compared to the remaster. Leave it to Kurt Ballou to pull off a perfect remastering job.

I like the remastered version for the clarity etc, but I also think the Steve Austin version is amazing; fucked up, immersive and kind of psychedelic in places.

having heard the remaster, I must say this album may very well be their best release.

"if this was remastered with quality production, I would cream my pants, simply at the announcement of it." -- Can't tell if you're joking or not, but it was remastered, and it sounds much better than the original Steve Austin crap. I wonder which version you're listening to...

this album has some of my favorite lyrical content in it. shame there aren't more listeners, but I suppose that is entirely their loss.

In Harm's Way is such a great song, why doesn't it get more love?

people only say underrated too much, because in fact, there are so many great and brilliant things that don't get the recognition they deserve, while the mindless and senseless drivel that is well know is just that, mindless and senseless.

After Jane Doe, this is my favorite album with them, and sometimes I even listen to this over Jane Doe. The riffs on this album are awesome!
