Golden throats - Actors who are singers

They exist. Actors and actresses who know how to jangle together a damn fine little tune.

Why do i care for these artists? Well, i don't really know. Probably cause It's really unnecessary and intriguing at the same time; People who are appreciated and recognized for different reasons and different talents. And thus sometimes attract people who have a love/hate relationship with them. But most of the time people will love them anyway, without being too critical.
Blindly loving someone for his acting, because he's a great singer. Or vice versa.
Is that hypocritical? maybe not, maybe we just want to be closer with said artist and therefore follow them in whatever direction they choose. A good way to get to know them a little better.
I can't think of much else besides these few. Help me out expand this list if you like to.
There must be more worthwhile stuff hidden in the hay. Please try to keep it on the talented side. So i'd say less Scarlett Johansson and more Zoey Deschanel! :)

Favorite Albums of the 2000-2009 Decade

I would consider myself an audiophile. I love listening to music and due to my current profession I spend almost eight hours a day doing just that. I've always enjoyed a wide range of genres and I enjoy sharing music with friends, especially when I can introduce someone to something they really enjoy.

I've picked out my top five albums from 2000 - 2009. These albums were selected because many, if not all of the songs are favorites of mine. I've also chosen them because they work well as complete albums and because they're easy to listen to more than once. They each support a wide variety of moods and are very unique from other music that's come out in the past decade.

First, I'll share what I consider my absolute favorite track from the entire decade:

Mix Of The Month - December 2009

One whole year of mixes in the bag, how about that? I'm fairly pleased with how this has gone so far. This month's mix is a collection of things I've been holding onto for awhile, plus some exciting new material. It starts off with a country/punk song from Quebec, then moves through Cancon territory with selections from the CBC's Great Canadian Songquest and a track from one of Hawksley Workman's two upcoming albums. There's another great song from the soon-to-be-released collaboration between Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck, and then it's off to the club for more pop and electronic music than I usually include. Don't worry, though, there's a good chunk of indie and/or folk to close things off. Although that new Shearwater track isn't doing as much to excite me as the pre-release songs from the Rook did, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Oh, and I included a song by the RAA because I can't put them on my best of the year mix and I wanted to give them some props for an excellent show last month. Also, it's a pretty Albertan track (I doubt will ever be another song alluding to the Christmas decorations at the Legislature) and I'm finally heading back home later this month. I miss it!

My Hummingbird 100 Female Songs of all-time which I voted for + some more

This from the HOTTEST FEMALE SONGS!!! Kind-off like Triple J's Hottest 100 of All-time early in the year but only female artists because there was very few women in Triple J's countdown. It's run by a new beer called Hummingbird and some pay TV channel (I don't know which one because I don't watch it). It's a cool idea and I found it so hard to cut it down just to ten in the end so I just made my own 100 tracks from my favourite female artists.

This was very, very, very, very hard (have I made it clear how hard this was?) But I picked songs which I could listen to on repeat which I have done in the past (not here on last.fm yet). Most tracks are from the 90's too (I grew-up in that decade, if you haven't all ready guessed). It seems like last.fm's journals are made up of long lists of songs so I've joined in again with my very, very long short list of songs that didn't make it into the top ten. These songs can be any thing that I love really It's from A to Z (well it's Y really, then V). It's selected from the list of tracks which are on their website but I've added a few of my own ones at the end. So that is it. It wasn't so hard really (but cutting it down to ten was). I've most likely missed something which I'll remember later and be kicking myself about but I'm pretty happy with this mix. It seems my favorite female singer songwriter is Beth Gibbons with my number 1 track in my top ten. Plus two more Portishead songs and one from Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man project album. If you don't know she wrote My Secret for Jane Birkin a few years ago too. That adds up to five tracks out of one hundred which is not many but more that anyone else.

Anyway what do you think??? I liked writing these journal entries but I do like reading you comments and It's also the only way I can tell if anyone has been reading or looking at them. Thanks and bye for now.
