For me, genres are more a way to conveniently label an artist's music than put some kind of boundary on what I listen to or what I think a musician can do. I don't limit the music I listen to by genre names, nor should artists let genres limit their creativity. Most genres describe music reasonably well, however Industrial means too many things to say much of anything about an artist. It's become an umbrella term for music like Rock, Electronic, etc. I am guilty of using the term Industrial myself on many occasions, because it's just easier than specifying the exact genre. People can call Klayton's music whatever they want, what matters is that he's amazing at what he does. He's created his own unique style of music. If I had to describe his music by genre for the sake of convenience, I'd personally call it Electronic Rock or Electro-Industrial. This also seems like a good time to shamelessly plug the FIXT Music group. Celldweller for life.
