Caspian is an instrumental post-rock band from Beverly, Massachusetts, formed in Autumn of 2003 at Gordon College in Beverly, Massachusetts, developing material through the first year of its existence, recording a demo in August 2004 and performing a small number of shows in late 2004 and early 2005, including a support for Japanese post-rock band Mono. Shortly afterward, the band signed with Dopamine Records, releasing a debut EP, You Are The Conductor in November 2005. This was followed, in December, January and February with performances in support, in Massachusetts and California. In April and May 2006, the band embarked on its first full tour of the USA, 28 performances from coast to coast. A Tour EP was released by the band in September 2005.
Over the course of 2006, the band developed material for a debut album, recording with Ethan Dussault in August 2006, released on Dopamine Records on April 10, 2007. This is currently being supported by a tour of USA. Guitarist Calvin Joss has been replaced by Erin Burke-Moran of The Fly-Agaris Sky, in light of marriage commitments. Joss remains in the band to write, record and play locally however, as the band has officially expanded into a 5 piece.

Because people miss-tag it. Even so, it should be way higher. Probably my favorite song. As for Tertia, wonderful release, I missed this guys twice already and heard they are a blast live.

i like the vocals in some of the newer songs...adds more than just that hugely dense guitar sound. its a good album, the new one...not quite as thrilling as "Conductor..." in my opinion, but better than "Four Trees".

Listened to Tertia for the 3rd time now. I was seriously expecting them to make "explosions in the sky" worried with this new release, but i'm really surprised how dull the new album is melodically and sonically. "Epochs in Dmaj" abit of "Raven" and "Ghosts of the Garden City" are the only times it has any character or emotion, the rest of the album is just a big continous dull post rock drone. Deffinitely a step back. Maybe i need to give it 10 listens? oh well hopefully Aerial wont let me down.
