Caspa & RuskoSat 3 Oct – DNBBQ
Due to the wet weather, the turnout wasn't as good as last time, but my friends and I had fun nonetheless.
I felt the music selection was a little hit-and-miss; although there's a strong relationship between reggae/dub, hip-hop and drum & bass, the people in attendance were there to hear some ~174bpm amens, not rap/rock, and they certainly showed it by dancing in the rain out on the balcony to the DJs rather than inside to the bands. Westernsynthetics and Typhonic were the standout acts by far. Both had great tune selection, and Typhonic had some wicked juggling and scratching skills. After having a particularly big one the night before, and to save a little hassle with the DST changeover, we left around 12. Would have liked to have seen Linken and Vertigo, but perhaps next time.
Massive respect to the fellas in charge of the food; the salads were brilliant, and I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian option (anyone got a name for those things?).
