When I was at school I thought that Autumn was my favorite season,possibly in a misguided attempt to be mysterious and cool. In real life, though, everyone knows that spring is the best, those first days of sun after a miserable British winter when the year just looks like getting better and better.

I went to this concert yesterday courtesy of a VERY nice classmate whose dad is a producer of sorts and he had tickets for Joshua Redman. Being completely honest, I'd never EVER heard about him before but it's no surprise I really like jazz, even when I am very illiterate in music and I just listen to it. So we went and it was completely awesome. What I think is my favourite thing about jazz is how these musicians know each other so well they can improvise as much as they like and it doesn't sound messy at all - everything's in the right place. And you know no gig will sound the same as other one, which is pretty amazing as well. The Aaron Goldberg Trio I didn't know would play till 2 hours before the concert or so, but of course a saxophonist wouldn't play alone, silly me.

Anyways, I am completely and utterly in love with jazz. My first approaches to it were by Jamie Cullum (who does crossover and pop and stuff but he's completely amazing) and later on I loved this concert I saw on TV by Carmen McRae as well. If I could play something, then I'd have a jazz band. Or I'd sing, which I can do, but young people nowadays don't seem to like jazz that much :).

Anyways, that concert was the joy of life.
