In four week's time, I will actually be WATCHING Sonata Arctica LIVE & IN THE FLESH. My countdown has officially begun >w<


So anyway, when I started my countdown for the Nightwish gig, I did a little anticipation journal and I thought it was only fair that I did it for Sonata too ;)

First of all OH MY FREAKIN' GOD I cannot WAIT!!! DX It actually kind of hurts sometimes, the anticipation >w< And it's so different to Nightwish... with Nightwish I was expecting to be so moved, and I was, but with Sonata I just can't wait for the FUN we're going to have! :D It's gonna be a totally different atmosphere, so much... PAM! I still love the way this album starts!! :D

(Cookies for those who get the reference ;D Chrissi, I'm looking at you! :P)

Setlist?

Let's get one thing straight here: there are only about five Sonata songs at the moment that I might say "oh.." at in a slightly disappointed tone. Blinded No More is the main one, but you know, even that one will be enjoyable live :)

Songs I really really want? Well I will absolutely die of joy if they play Deathaura for us. It became my all-time favourite Sonata song pretty much on the first listen, and it's just so, so amazing *w* I don't know how likely they are to play it though, since I keep hearing different stories ^__^;; But you know, fingers crossed and I'll forgive 'em if they leave it out ^__^

Other songs I really would love to hear but probably aren't very likely:
Fly With the Black Swan and My Dream's but a Drop of Fuel for a Nightmare because they are my two favourite tracks after Deathaura, and The Gun just because I think it would be *such* a fun song live! :D

Songs I really wanna hear and am quite likely to have my wish granted:
The Last Amazing Grays because it's one of my favourites from the new album and as a single, they're bound to play it (looking forward to Flag In The Ground too :D), Black Sheep (one of the most perfect songs ever written!), In Black and White, Caleb and Don't Say a Word.

Merch?

You know, I'm not too motivated by merch, but maybe I'll take a look at what's leftover after the gig. Priority is to get as near to the front as I can! =w=

Support acts?

Bah >w< Well, Winterborn should be pretty enjoyable live. I've only actually listened to one song so I need to check out a bit more before the gig, but they're all underrated and stuffs. At first I was like, "WHAAT? Do not want! DX" about Delain, but since giving them a second chance I'm a lot happier about them supporting. I still hope they won't play too long a set though, I doubt I'll be able to listen to more than about six songs without getting at least a little bit bored ^__^;; And if they don't play April Rain then I'll have to find a shotgun somewhere because April Rain is the POINT of Delain! xD

Oh, and some people seem to have got the idea that Norther are also supporting on this gig. Let me say this now: NORTHER ARE NOT SUPPORTING. Ticketmaster have got it WRONG. On Sonata's official website, they list the support acts for the European leg of the tour as Delain and Winterborn; Delain have this gig marked up on their official website; Winterborn also have this gig marked up on their official website. On Norther's website there isn't even a WHISPER about this gig. So they will not be supporting.

My first choice for support would have been Brother Firetribe, JUST BECAUSE OF THE PURE AWESOME, and I'd almost forgotten that this was only in my head, because I was really disappointed when the support bands were announced and BF weren't one of them xD I guess I just wanted to see dear little Emppu Vuorinen again, but also BF would have just the right kind of fun atmosphere to really get me going for the gig :)

Tarot would have been awesome too, and maybe Cain's Offering - it would make up for Jani Liimatainen not being in the band anymore ;( I'm the last person in the world to ask them to chuck out Elias Viljanen because Elias is amazing and I love him to bits, but still, I never got the chance to see Sonata live with Jani ;(

I guess I will just have to make up for it by saying, "Playing sober was a mistake. Now we go back to the old style." OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.

I think I must have a real keyboards obsession (not surprising for a pianist) since for Nightwish I wanted to stand over to the left to get a better view of Tuomas Holopainen and his... boat as it turned out xD And this time I want to be sort of in between the middle and the right, because let's face it, Henrik Klingenberg is the awesomest keyboardist in the world >w< And even though he *can* move around with the keytar, his normal keyboards are pretty grounded and even with the keytar, he tends to stay put in the videos I've seen. So I figure that if I stand by him, I can see everyone else too because they move around AND I won't miss any Henkka/Tony moments his keytar solos ;D

Hope I'll get a good view of Tommy Portimo too :) He's my little cutie, so he is xD

Can't believe I just wrote that but NEVER MIND, MOVING ON xD

For Nightwish I planned to meet them until about a week before when I changed my mind. For Sonata Arctica I have no intention of meeting the band at all. I mean, sure, if Tony Kakko happens to stroll past me at some point, I'm gonna do my best to at least get a high five, but I'm not going to deliberately set out to meet them. Seems forced, invading their privacy, etc. etc. I'm happy just seeing them and conveying my heartfelt kiitos through yelling myself hoarse ;D


So yeah. IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME. I cannot wait :33

Most days when I get up I don't have the time or the attention span to listen to a whole album. So I decided to make my little breakfast playlists :3 Pick a style, slap it on random and listen 'til time runs out/I feel like moving on :)

I compiled the playlists of only bands that I don't have a full album of. These are artists that I really like and want to hear more, but my usual listening habit is to slap between 10-50 artists on a playlist and stick the whole lot on random, which that my single lonely Sethian song has to compete with my 187 Nightwish tracks. A little bit unfair on poor Sethian, I think ;P

Techno breakfast:
All of the artists ended up being Japanese, which is probably just because I have more variety of Japanese music from my anime loving days. Techno, being such high-energy, is great for waking up to.
(Actually I should really have called this Takanori-tachi breakfast, because 12 of the 18 songs feature Takanori Nishiki xD I love that guy :3)

1. What's your favorite song by 14?
Brother Firetribe is so catchy group and it's full of strange erotic power! Yes, this is it. Listening to them on Friday or Saturday evening is really dangerous ;-) I like both albums of them, but the one released in 2008, Heart Full of Fire, is more powerful after all. And I must say I can't decide what's my top song. Really, I love them all.

2. How did you get into 20?
I've heard of Pain in connection with Nightwish's gig here in the Czech republic in February 2008. And then my good friend, Kapinnka, and also my ex boy-friend recommended me some songs. Now I have almost all albums and listening to them especially when I'm angry (I can scream with them!).

3. Who is your favorite member in 8?
(Edguy) Jens, Jens, Jens, Jens!

4. What's your favorite lyric by 29?
I don't really know, I like Uniklubi, but I don't speak Finnish, so it's hard to say. Maybe Älä jää, just because I know what the title means :-D

5. Have you ever seen 22 live?
Unfortunately no, Tarot has gigs only somewhere in Finland etc. And it's unfair.

6. What's your favorite album from 10?
Symbols, definitely. In my opinion the best album of Ador Dorath. You can find there songs with nice symphony of instruments and clean vocals of Lenka, songs with absolutely amazing devil growl of Ivoš, and then both together. They made great composition here. Other albums are good too, but here I feel their full talent and power.

7. Do you own any merchandise from 3?
No, nothing from Eluveitie I think.

8. What is a good memory you have of 7?
One of the best memories! I was walking in the forest and listening to Epica's Consign to Oblivion. The weather was absolutelly amazing and the forest I was in is my best-loved place on Earth.

9. Is there a member of the same age as you in 2?
No, men from Gotthard are older than me. But if Steve Lee was younger, hmmm... :)

10. When did you first get into 1?
I've been in love with Nightwish since 15th November 2007.

11. Who likes 4 along with you?
Everybody likes Apocalyptica. So do my friends and family.

It was Gula Gula on one lecture on Finland. Mari Boine was mentioned there in connection with Sami people.

It was cover of Alice Cooper's song Poison by Tarja. Then I fell in love with the rest of his work.

I love folk stuff, so impossible to say there's something by Мельница which I don't like.

15. Why do you like 14's songs?
I've said it on the top of this journal. Brother Firetribe has catchy erotic songs :) And I was listening to them one year ago on holiday with my best friends and I enjoyed it pretty much.

16. Where did you first hear 6?
I don't remember where I heard Sonata Arctica's songs for the first time. Probably at home some day in the year 2007.

17. How long was 19 a musician before you liked them?
Xandria was found in 1997, so for 10 years.

Yes, I think some songs from Metallica are connected with bad things in my life.

I don't know when (maybe one and half year ago) but I know what was the first song by Korpiklaani. "Beer Beer I want beer, from beer I get really drunk!" :)

I've been loving Nightwish for 2 years.

21. If 9 have a concert 300 miles away, would you drive there to see them?
I think I'm able to do this for Tarja, yes. But money and my full free time aren't on my side.

I bought Amorphis's last CD called Skyforger. I read an epic poem Kalevala and thanks to it I understand all their lyrics, especially in Skyforger. That's why I bought it.

(Avantasia) Maybe Carry Me Over.

Almost everything from album Secret Voyage. But the happiest song by Blackmore's Night for me is Locked Within The Crystal Ball, when I want to dance and jump.

No, Helloween haven't something like this for me. They have songs which makes me cry more likely.

It was The Black Rider from soundtrack for The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring.

And then Amberian Dawn - I don't want anybody to go solo. It's good as it is.

I don't have any special memories of Poisonblack. Maybe journey with my parents to our grand-father.

Not so much from audio CD, but when I was on concert where Interitus performed, I was dancing, jumping... I don't like their singer, but musicians are absolutely amazing.
