I just heard this interesting piece of “Man of Aran” history. One of the “Man of Aran” Basking Shark hunters, Tommy O’Rourke, is the father of Steve O’Rourke, the late manager of Pink Floyd. Tommys payment for appearing in the film was a family trip to London to watch the premiere screening of Man of Aran in 1934. … -
