Brisa Roché erinnert rein oberflächlich betrachtet erst ein Mal stark an den Frauentyp Amy Winehouse (schon allein frisurentechnisch), die Björks theatralische Gesten verinnerlicht hat. Die zierliche Amerikanerin mit Wohnsitz in Paris singt überwiegend über die Qual der Wahl (Breathe In Speak Out). Nachdem sie uns dies zum gefühlt zehnten Mal erklärt, dürfte es auch der Letzte im gut gefüllten Kölner Luxor (Ex-Prime Club, Ex-Luxor) begriffen haben. Brisa sollte vielleicht selbst Entscheidungen treffen und zwar die, ihrer kleinen Band das Reden zu überlassen und sich ganz auf ihr Jazzstimme zu konzentrieren. Denn das Gemisch aus Poprock und Blues mit einer Prise Country und Folk steht ihr nicht schlecht. Nur fühlt man sich nach einer halben Stunden doch – wenn auch auf hohem Niveau – ein wenig genervt von der leicht-wahnsinnigen Frau im 70ies-Retro-Gewand.

Nach Brisas Bühnenabgang kommt auch schon Teitur Lassen auf die Bühne, nicht etwa um zu singen, er stellt kurz den isländischen Singer/Songwriter Helgi Jónsson vor, der unter anderem auch gerade an Sigur Rós' neuem Werk beteiligt ist. Helgi, nur mit einer Gitarre bewaffnet, bringt das Publikum mit seinem österreichischen Akzent sofort zum Lachen. Seine zwei fragilen Songs glänzen durch entrückte Schönheit und animieren eher zum herzhaften Losheulen. Das gesamte Luxor hat sich spontan verliebt. Solche Musiker sollte es öfter geben.

Teitur am 26. März 2008 im Gleis 22 in Münster

Gestern waren Jojo und ich zu Gast im Gleis 22 in Münster bei dem wunderbar tollen Konzert von Teitur.
Es fing an mit dem Auftritt der Vorband Brisa Roché, noch nie gehört und der erste Eindruck war etwas komisch. Meiner Meinung nach war das erste Lied nicht so geeignet als Opener, dafür waren die folgenden Stücke um Einiges überzeugender. Die Sängerin erinnerte mich stark an Björk, sowohl von ihrem Erscheinungsbild, als auch von ihrer Stimme her. Auch der Musikstil ähnelte dem von Björk teilweise sehr, war andererseits aber auch wieder ganz gegensätzlich. Man kann ihn vielleicht als eine Mischung aus Stars, Kate Nash und Björk definieren. Was ich sehr beeindruckend fand, war der enge Kontakt zum Publikum, den die Band, und besonders die Sängerin, aufzubauen versuchte. Ihren Gesang untermalte sie durch zahlreiche ausschweifende Gesten. So wirkten manche Lieder ein wenig sphärisch oder esoterisch, was aber nicht unbedingt negativ ist! Man hatte das Gefühl, das gesamte Klang-Spektrum zu erkunden und als sie von der Bühne gingen, war es eine Mischung aus Endlich-fängt-Teitur-an und Geht-noch-nicht-wir-wollen-mehr. Leider gibt es noch keine CD von ihnen, die hätte ich glatt gekauft. Aber man darf noch auf Großes hoffen :)

Brisa Roché è l’ultima nelle file degli artisti americani che riscoprono nuova vita nella scena francese, assorbendo i benefici influssi della chanson e della cultura europea.
Il suo ultimo lavoro, Takes, è un magnifico collage di suoni dolcemente rievocanti l’immaginario della nouvelle vague parigina, il folk di certi anni 70 e allo stesso tempo zuppo di sonorità sixties della sua patria californiana, in un mélange che non fatica a risultare irresistibile dopo pochissimi ascolti.

Charlotte Gainsbourg

While Charlotte Gainsbourg is better known as an accomplished actress than as a musician, her singing career has also been significant. Around the same time she began acting, Gainsbourg also started singing professionally. At 13, she recorded her debut, Charlotte for Ever, an album of songs written by her father, singer/songwriter/provocateur Serge Gainsbourg, that was inspired by the film he directed and in which they both starred.



The infamous father-daughter duet "Lemon Incest" mirrored the sexually precocious tone of her early films, which included 1986's L'Effrontee (which won her a Cesar for Most Promising Young Actress), 1988's La Petite Voleuse, and 1991's Merci la Vie. During the '90s she concentrated on acting, appearing in movies as eclectic as Franco Zeffirelli's 1996 adaptation of Jane Eyre to 1999's La Buche, for which she won a Cesar for Best Supporting Actress, but in the 2000s Gainsbourg returned to music, performing the spoken word introduction to Madonna's "What It Feels Like for a Girl" in 2001 and lending backing vocals to Badly Drawn Boy's 2002 album Have You Fed the Fish?

While appearing in projects such as Michel Gondry's The Science of Sleep, she began work on her second solo album, enlisting Air's Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin as composers, Jarvis Cocker and the Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon as lyricists, and Nigel Godrich as producer. The results, 2006's 5:55, paid homage to her musical heritage and defined her as an artist and interpreter in her own right. 5:55 was released in the U.S. in spring 2007.

Charlotte is very very nice singer... sounds like french/pop/rock Jane Birkin, Brisa Roché, Coralie Clément, Lisa Germano, Isabelle Adjani, Stephanie etc. Try it!
