Cantora e compositora americana, nasceu em 1 de Julho de 1981 em Ravensdale, Washington. Assinou o seu primeiro álbum com a Columbia Records em 2004. Vocalista, guitarrista e pianista, sua música tem sido categorizada em diversas formas, tais como pop, rock, country alternativo, indie e folk. Actualmente tem passado a maior parte do tempo, juntamente com a sua banda, em Nova Orleans, onde também tem se dedicado a alguns movimentos activistas, e que recentemente esteve na Zambujeira do Mar (Portugal), mais precisamente na Herdade da Casa Branca no Festival Sudoeste onde deu um concerto memorável.

I remember listening to the song 'The Story' for the first time a long time ago when it was featured on a PASTE sampler CD. It's still an amazing song!!!--even after VH1, Grey's Anatomy, etc. got their grubby little hands all over it (and Brandi).
