Bomb the Music Industry! is a collective of musicians moreso than a band. The goal is to have a stress-free environment to write, record and perform music. Of course, if anyone plays a wrong note in this “collective” they will be thrown out of the “collective” and will be forced to start a “band”
Bomb the Music Industry! is not a replacement for any bands that any members are currently in, regardless of what any of us have said while drunk.
Bomb the Music Industry! will do the best to make sure that you the “listener/mindless consumer” becomes simply the “listener” or dare I say, “participant.” We will record music on our own personal equipment. We will release our songs for free on the internet. If you come to a Bomb the Music Industry! show with a CD-R, we will burn a compact disc for you. All Bomb the Music Industry! artwork will be available online, but you’ll have to print those things out yourself. I know. We just aren’t doing enough for our audience.
Since coming to the realization that by not printing out the artwork for our releases we are screwing over or audience, Bomb the Music Industry! has agreed to also have no merchandise available for purchase. We will set up screens, sponges, spraypaint, stencils and spaint. You supply the shirt. You get your shirt made for you on the spot. Tips will probably be appreciated by whatever interns will be working the merch booth.
Bomb the Music Industry! has members in Boston, Brooklyn and Georgia! And who knows if they know that this band was not more than just a drunken idea!

Whoa, the Valkyrians ARE good, thanks for sharing that. At least there are some cool bands that you like in Finland - you should just show them stuff like Bomb! and see what they think. And I know you weren't saying that you wanted to be the next Joe Lally, but having a less-intimidating goal (like just competently playing basic bass lines) is key to actually being motivated to practice and improve, I think.

There's a couple of really good ska bands here. The Valkyrians are especially cool. Lots of 2nd wave British influence there.

The bands that aren't stuck in '77 are trying really hard to sound like Rancid. So it's kids' music either way. I did try to learn an instrument, bass actually. Haven't had much success in becoming the next Joe Lally though...

What's the Finnish punk scene like? Good music can be found at home too, usually. I'm sure (I'm not sure, but I'm guessing) Jeff would say that if there aren't many bands you like in your area, you should make your own band and play music that you want to hear. Of course, that's easier said than done, but yeah.

man, here in brazil, jeff played BEFORE a local band. 40 people in the crowd having a blast, the rest was like "what is this?". It was great.

Yeah of course a Scandinavian date would be cool. But since only 25 people in Finland even know who the fuck Jeff is, I won't hold my breath. I'm actually quite brown Jawnson ;D Brown eyes, skin and hair. Maybe one day when I have the money and time to travel I'll do a USA road trip, only stopping in places where cool bands are playing at that time.

The band went to Europe in Fall 2010, I believe. Mainland as well as the UK, but not Scandinavia. I hope you get to see them someday!
