janeiro 2011Awesome songwriter . Not a huge fan of his voice . But a man to be deeply respected just the same . This man has probably inspired more musicians than the Beatles . When I was younger. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I would hear a song by some artist ,then discover it was a Dylan cover tune. All his songs are works of genius , and I am so glad that there are / were excellent musicians out there that cover his music ,Such as Jimmi Hendrix ,Manfred Mann , and Bruce Springsteen to name a pitiful few . ( I don't know them all and there isn't enough time or space to write down the ones I do know .) I just know that his skills as a songwriter have exceptionally few peers .

fevereiro 2010What makes this song so amazing - so powerful lyrically - is that Dylan uses no proper names here, and so can't find refuge in his typical trick of easy rhyming. Pronouns and pronouns alone - if only he'd used this approach more often.
