Got into a mood. Done this before with songs about, for instance, kissing. This time wanted to build a playlist all about fire, burning, flame, etc. (Not a pyro, just happened to have shuffle going and three or four fire songs came along in a row and - uh - sparked my curiosity about how a playlist might look.

It doesn't quite flow the way I want... hoping to make it thematically flow and remain surprisingly eclectic in genre... I think it's kinda getting there.

Late additions were total winners like Tom Waits's Mr. Seigal - with the unforgettable line:

If I can find a book of matches,
I'm goin' to burn this hotel down

I think that's the kind I've most likely got in my collection that I've missed. The lazy way to start was to just search for titles with keywords relating to fire... missing many good candidates, no doubt.

The Accüsed - Martha Splatterhead's Maddest Stories Ever Told

Although the first full LP Return of martha splatterhead was a totally raging hardcore piece of sonic brutality this follow-up album really disappoints me. Much of the energy has been lost. Only average hardcore left. To be honest I only like the first.

Agnostic Front - Liberty and Justice

My first and last LP by this band. Cannot say exactly why i don't like it. Never found it catchy - sorry front fans.

Really dull and lame. There's really only one good song on it which was also released on the "We don't need nuclear force" compilation. Buy the compilation....

Attitude Adjustment - No More Mr. Nice Guy

Bought this record after the experience with the excellent debut American Paranoia This one is good deal worse. Not comparable to the first.



Blitz - Voice of a Generation

It will ever be a miracle to me why this record is a classic. Too lame for hardcore too primitive for good punk. I don't like it.


Butthole Surfers - The Lord is a Monkey

Ha, this 7inch looks pretty good as it is a picture ep with silly dogs on it. But the music on it..... it is neither music nor something else related. Completely experimental and crazy. Only for total fanatics.


Charley's Girls - Fuck double EP

Anybody put one of the worst live recordings on two 7inches and hoped to make some money with is as this band existed before and featured members of
Mittagspause and Fehlfarben. Maybe the songs are not bad but the sound quality is bad as hell. Sold it to Japan... the buyer was thrilled - to my surprise..

Conflict - Only Stupid Bastards Help EMI

One of the worst live recordings ever bought. Very poor sound. Nothing more to say.

Killer - Hardcore killer 10inch - Kulturschutzschuhe 7inch.

Don't buy these records if you like EA80 although both records are released by one of the members. Experimental, not catchy... very extraordinary. So unknown that the artist is not listed in Last.fm..... ! The connection listed here is for other bands.


Sods - Minutes to Go

Another "classic" from a danish band. Rare and expensive but I don't understand why. Just ordinary 77 punk.


OHL - Heimatfront

First and worst record of this german band. Completely amateurish and primitve. The drummer was not able to keep the rhythym.... Not three chord music - two chords are ruling this LP. One of the most overrated german punk releases.



Perhaps I add some more in future... there is still something in mind worth to be added here.
