They've done better; it's lacking something that I have trouble putting my finger on, but whatever the case, I can't enjoy it on quite the same level as their other stuff. Still, it's a very good album, regardless.

It's still epic Blind Guardian, but in a new form. It's such a shame, that I've stopped on Nightfall in Middle-Earth and somehow Night at the Opera, and over 3 years never tried A Twist in the Myth. Now I regret!

VERY underrated album. I feel that BG fans need to separate the "eras" of the band, because they're totally different, one from the other. But just because it's different from their previous works, it doesn't mean it's bad. Nowadays they've stepped apart from power metal into a somewhat symphonic epic metal or whatever, and it works for them. Imagine after 20 years doing the SAME album over and over again. Where's the credibility in that? They're artists, they're supossed to experiment, and as long as they're convinced in what they do, it's going to be amazing, because they're incredible musicians.

it is just different than their previous work. i think this is no more power metal and there's no point in comparing it to the older albums recorded by blind guardian. it's a pity that Hansi has lost his unique timbre. but that doesnt seem to interrupt him in doing his job. great album.

A grower: bought this based on the previous expierience with this band, and was rather dissapointed. About two years later and I love every bit of it.
