Hey guys! I've been listening to the music from Yellowcard for quite a while now and I really really love their music. Searching the web I found out that Yellowcard was on a what they called 'indefinite hiatus'. Later I found out Ryan Key founded Big If together with Sean. I started listening to their first few songs and i have to admit: those are some great songs!
But frankly I really miss the Yellowcard sound. I know times have changed, this have passed and everyone is getting older instead of any younger; but still I miss Sean (Mackin) playing the violin (which gave Yellowcard its distinctive sound) and Longineu smashing the drums.
I sincerely hope that one day the members from Yellowcard will find inspiration to create yet another piece of masterwork.
Yellowcard had a full "band life." They started out as a bunch of punk-ass kids making seriously, seriously, seriously poor garage/rock/punk music in Jacksonville, Florida. From that they developed into a pop/punk band then progressed to pop/rock, then to a richer melodic rock hinting greatly towards their profound experience and Paper Walls was the happy medium to all of their years.
Let them rest.
Big If has a slightly similar sound to Yellowcard but they're still different. Believe me, I'd love if YC got back together but for now, I'm totally happy with Big If and I'm not going to fool myself into thinking Ryan and Sean aren't committed to this project of theirs and that they're going to leave to join their respective bands.
Seriously, show some support. It's hard starting from scratch, they need us.
